Police investigate social media threat at Ray-Pec Middle School
Sunday, March 3, 3:30pm: Following reports of several threatening social media posts, the Raymore Police Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Office investigated. As a result one juvenile was taken into custody. At this time we are unable to comment further, but the Raymore Police Department and Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate.

Obituary - Lois R. Simmons
Lois R. Simmons, age 71, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
A Visitation Service will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083. A Funeral Service will follow immediately after Visitation at 5:30 p.m.
Lois was born on August 19 of 1947 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the daughter of Miguel Flores and Margaret (Esperanza) Flores. Lois was one of seven children including, Mike, Eunice, Naomi, Rita, Martha, and Deborah.
After graduating high school in 1965 from Banning High School, Lois continued her education through nursing school in California. In 1973 she was joined in marriage with her late husband, Kenneth Simmons Sr. Together they were blessed with seven children, Keith, Margaret, David, Anthony, Kenneth Jr., Davina, and Sara.
As a member of the South Haven Baptist Church in Belton, Missouri, Lois very much enjoyed attending services and had a very strong faith. She also lived in the moment, often taking spontaneous “day drives” and other trips. For many years, Lois worked as a teacher’s assistant at the Sharewood school and worked as a lunch lady at Ray-Pec. Lois also worked as a house keeper/custodian for Johnson County, Kansas for eighteen years before retiring. Lois very much-loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lois is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Kenneth Simmons, Sr.; parents, Miguel and Margaret Flores; son Keith; daughter, Margaret; brother Mike Flores; and sister Eunice Flores.
She is survived by her five loving children, David Flores, Anthony Simmons, Kenneth Simmons Jr., Davina Simmons, and Sara Simmons; four sisters, Naomi Castillo (Richard), Rita Castillo, Martha Marions (Jeff), and Deborah Lauver (Bill); twelve grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
