Obituary - Gary Franklin Jackson

The Busch stock plummeted on February 26, 2019 due to the death of Gary Franklin Jackson, 72, of Appleton City, Missouri. His loyal lifetime companions, The Canadian, Jim, Jack and The Crown are in deep mourning over his departure. According to his birth certificate he just appeared on January 29, 1947 by mother, Helen Burton and father, Franklin Jackson. He was loved and hated by relatives and friends alike. He ultimately passed as a result of being stubborn and by refusing to follow doctor’ orders (or anyone else’s for that matter).

He lived life on his terms and if someone didn’t like it, he would tell them… He enjoyed country music, fishing, boating, hunting, auctions, thrift stores, cooking, drinking and telling stories (and you could be sure 50% of every story was true - we just never knew which 50%) and not necessarily in this order. Eons ago he retired from KCATA in KC. For retirement he developed his own private resort, Jackson Pit, which included free amenities of ticks, mosquito’s, poison ivy/oak plus lots of creatures that slithered, crawled, jumped, flew at you or greeted you with hisses, screams or howls. Ya bring your own TP for your PP and BYOBACFWB (had to ask once… “bringyourownbigasscoolerfilledwithbeer”). Ya can swim, fish, hunt, 4wheelit, walk it or his favorite pass time was to kop a squat and visit with family/friends.

He is survived by “Daddy’s Little Girl” (which he was profoundly proud of having ‘converted’ her from City to Country gal) who is his eyes was amazing, adorable, funny, charming, intelligent and stubborn like him; Tisha Lynn Jackson of Holden, MO; siblings Candis Salmons (+ husband Butch), Paul Tate (+ wife Sharon), Terry Tate (+ wife Debbie) of Fulton, MO, Catherine Tate, John Knox Village, Lee’s Summit, MO, and he had tons of more kin all over the place! (Ya all know who you are) He had friends he called his family too (Ya all know who you are) from Appleton City and stretched all over. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Caroline, Brother Michael and his beloved son Jariod Scott Jackson (just use same adjectives at Tisha’s above minus the intelligent) and a whole lot of hell-raising and ass-kicking Burton, Jackson and Tate clan!

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hill & Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, MO

Funeral Services will be at 3:00 p.m.

Burial will follow in Appleton City Cemetery. He will be put right next to Jariod so they can irritate each other throughout eternity!

In lieu of flowers/plants or your sorry excuse for not coming, Gary’s final request was that you give very generously in his name to his daughter's not for profit charity, a 501©3 IRS tax deductible organization: CARRMISSOURI, PO Box 101, Holden, MO 64040 (www.carrmissouri.org).

A BASD (bringasidedish) potluck gathering will be somewhere…
