Search warrant served at Burger King in Nevada, employee arrested

One person is in custody after a search warrant was executed at the Burger King on Austin Blvd in Nevada, Mo Monday afternoon.

According to officials with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Detectives began an investigation after receiving reports that a Burger King manager was possibly selling drugs from the fast food restaurant, which led to Monday’s search warrant.

The suspect has been identified as Amanda L Peery, 40, of Nevada after a warrant for her arrest was also issued Monday afternoon.

Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said Peery was arrested at Burger King by undercover detectives during the search warrant, at which time suspected methamphetamines were located on Peery.

Peery has been charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance and is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.

Kingsville man arrested on murder charges

On 03/03/19 at approximately 5:59 p.m., Johnson County Deputies were dispatched to a residence located at 632 NW 1801, Kingsville, MO., in regards to a shooting incident that occurred between two brothers.

Dispatch advised the reporting party stated one subject was shot and then the call was disconnected.

Upon arrival, a Johnson County Deputy made contact with multiple subjects inside the residence and observed the victim, a 57 year old man, lying unresponsive on the living room floor, with apparent gunshot wounds.

During the investigation, Victor D. Sanders, 54 years old from rural Kingsville, MO., was arrested and placed on a 24 hour investigative hold.

A warrant was obtained for the following charges: Voluntary Manslaughter, Armed Criminal Action, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a firearm and Possession of a controlled substance with a bond of $500,000.00 cash only.
