From the Clinton Police Department

The Clinton Police Department placed a memorial display outside of City Hall, March 6th, in honor of fallen Officer Ryan Morton, who was killed in the line of duty one year ago today.

Officer Ryan Morton chose to join the police force after serving in the Army, and eventually located to Clinton. He was killed by gunfire while responding to a potential domestic violence call that turned out to be where James Waters was residing (and evading) law enforcement attempts to serve a warrant.

In addition to Officer Morton’s death, Officers Nathan Bettencourt and Nicholas Kasper were also injured during the ensuing gunfire exchange. The shooting suspect also died. Officer Morton was 30 years old.

Harrisonville Police Department warn of funny money

Hey guys and gals, there are quite a few counterfeit bill circulating around Cass County right now. We want you to be aware, so here are some some tips. This flyer shows images of counterfeit bills that were passed in Harrisonville this week.

One tip to add is when using the counterfeit detecting pens, scratch the area that you are checking with a coin or your fingernail before testing with the pen.

The bad guys are known to spray the bill with a chemical which shows that the bill is legitimate. Stay safe, my friends.
