Obituary - Kenneth Lee Houk

Kenneth Lee Houk, 78, Clinton, Missouri passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at his home in Clinton. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com

Visitation will be on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 6-8pm at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri. Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11am also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Brownington, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Maplewood Cemetery and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Kenneth was born on October 16, 1940 in Henry County, Missouri to Orville and Mabel (Stone) Houk. Kenny was born and raised in the Brownington area. He was a member of the Deepwater Baptist Church. He drove a truck for several different concrete companies. Kenny enjoyed to sing and play guitar, he especially enjoyed Country Gospel. Kenny loved to spend time with his family, friends and his grandkids.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Denver Houk, Eddie Houk and Jim Houk, sister, Margie Lightle, daughter, Kathy Mast and grandson, Larry Lee Degraffenreid.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Darlene Houk of the home, son, Denver Paul Breeden, Clinton, daughters, Deborah Kay Olsen, Rich Hill, Rebecca Lynn Dietz, Clinton, Donna Denise Moreland, Clinton, sister, Janice Hamby, Dillon, Montana, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren on the way.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.

Obituary - Lois Field Jensen

Lois Field Jensen, 59, of Moundville, MO passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Lois was born August 14, 1958 in Lewiston, ME and grew up in Topeka, KS and Lisbon, ME and later settled in Nebraska City, NE. She had a zest for life and deeply loved her family and animals.

While she never had children of her own, her nieces and nephews and her pets were like children to her. She loved the outdoors spending much of her time fishing and boating with her companion, Rick O’Neil of Moundville.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bobbie and Eddie Field; stepmother Jeannie Stevens; sisters, Lois Ruth Smith and Rosie Rothfelder; and her husband Chuck Jensen.

She is survived by her companion, Rick O’Neal of the home; siblings Della Field, Debbie (Field) Ketter, Eddie Leroy Field, Linda (Field) Speed, Caroline (Field) McCoy, Joe Snow, Eddie Joe Field, and Matt Field; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Chad Baily officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lois may be made to Vernon County People For Pets in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.

Three injured in Barton County Crash

On 3/6/19 around 5:30pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Barton County along with Barton County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle accident at Route C in Milford.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1997 Jeep Wrangler driven by 19 year old Hunter L. Bayless of Lamar, Missouri pulled into the path and struck the 2003 Buick Century driven by 56 year old Leonard C. Winters of Lamar, Missouri.

Three people sustained minor injuries in this accident 14 year old Laney M. Bayless of Lamar, 68 year old Eric N. Prince of Sheldon and Leonard C. Winters all were transported by ambulance to Cox Hospital in Barton County.

The Buick was totaled and towed from the accident by Park's Tow of Lamar.
