Couple of cool days before rain returns

After a wet start to the weekend, we will get a little break from the rain today and Monday, but it won’t last long as we expect the return of thunderstorms Monday night and Tuesday.

Today and Monday will be a little cool for this time of year, but the returning warmer air Monday night into Tuesday will bring at least another couple rounds of rain to the region.

And, while there are concerns that these storms may bring some severe weather with them, they are just about guaranteed to induce some quick localized flooding given the wet ground and torrential rainfall rates expected.

Otherwise, looking beyond Tuesday, temperatures will stay near to above normal for late May, but there will be a continuing chance for some storms through the end of the work week.

New Dollar Store in Adrian is on track to be complete soon

Rain is on the way

While it will be a pleasantly warm mid-May day, showers and thunderstorms will impact anyone with outdoor plans; especially this afternoon and evening.

Showers and a few isolated thunderstorms will be kicking around the region at sunrise, but widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected across the region starting around noon.

These storms will persist through the late afternoon hours, with a second round of storms likely this evening and through the overnight hours into Sunday morning.

And, while we do expect it to dry out a little Sunday and during the day Monday, by Monday night the rain chances will return, making Tuesday at a minimum a bit soggy.
