Update from the Cedar County Sheriff's Office
Update: After continuing the investigation into the missing person report involving Kevin Costello, this is the latest information we have.
As Kevin was driving, another vehicle began to follow him very closely, Kevin allowed the vehicle to pass him. A short time later the vehicle pulled out of a side road and then stopped in the roadway. Kevin stopped and exited his vehicle and approached the stopped vehicle. A male subject around 20 years of age got out of the vehicle and began to walk around the vehicle.
Anyone with information please call the Sheriff's Office. And thank you to everyone who has reported possible leads so far.
To the people involved..we are looking for you and we will not stop...if you know something or were involved do the right thing and contact the Sheriff's Office. 417-276-5133. Or stop by at 202 South High in Stockton .
Thank you,

Another, unseen person struck Kevin from behind. Shortly after being struck. Kevin ran away from the location and apparently made his way on foot to the location south of Eldorado Springs where he was found. The vehicle is believed to be a white Chevrolet, possibly a Chevy Cruise with the letters W5 in the license plate. We believe this vehicle had been traveling the road between Stockton and Caplinger Mills for at least a day or two preceding this incident.
