Updated Obituary - Tamara Mapp
Tamara Mapp, 23, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Saturday morning, June 1, 2019 at her home following a hard-fought 3 year battle with glioblastoma multiforme cancer.
She was born May 24, 1996 in Sacramento, California, the daughter of Tia Marie Ragni.
Tamara was a 2014 graduate of Clinton High School. She was employed as a sales representative with Spectrum Cable. She had also worked for Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed art and making people laugh. Her own laugh was infectious, revealing dimples and sparkling eyes. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Tamara was very caring and leave many friends and loved ones behind as she continues her journey.
Surviving are her maternal grandmother, Kathleen Brackett; her uncle, Michael Connors; her mother, Tia Ragni, all of the home; special friend, Chase Daniels, Kansas City, MO; and numerous friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her uncle, William Connors.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., just prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Englewood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to assist with the funeral expenses, and can be left in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left online at www.bradleyhadley.com.
May she walk in light, love and beauty along her path. Until We Meet Again.

Light turnout for town hall meeting
Roughly 1% of Butler residents were in attendance for the town hall meeting last night. The forum, which lasted about two hours, covered a variety of topics including a proposed 1 percent sales tax, fixing infrastructure, new businesses, wages, streets, and much more.
A hearty thank you to those who attended; for those who didn't, the city council meets at 7 pm tonight at city hall.
Editor's note- It's saddening that only about 40 people out of a population of about 4,000 took the time to attend this meeting. Yes, we understand you might have a lot going on; so if you simply couldn't attend for other reasons, just remember the council meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month and everyone is highly encouraged to attend.

Hume Community News 6/4/19
The community of Hume wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of Betty Nelson who passed away on May 14. Every time I saw her she always had a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
On May 14, 2019, the Hume High School class of 1966 had a reunion at Sisters and Friends Restaurant in Hume. Those attending were: Linda (Wadel) and Joe McDaniel, Marilyn (Hess) and Keith Parker, Norman and Sue Coureton, Janice (Bogan) Koehn, Norma (Salters) Ford, Caroline (Clark) and Darrell Helton, Roger and Shelley Hines, Dave and Ping Denayer, and Esther (Tinsley) Murray. Also from the class of 1965 was Mary Beth (Barnes) Sheehy and from the class of 1964, Meredith Yarick. Everyone had a good time reminiscing and looking through the annual.
The O5O Club will meet on Monday, June 10 in the Hume United Methodist Church basement at noon with a carry – in dinner. Please note the change of location. The community center needs a new roof, so they are unable to meet there at this time.
The Hume Fair Board is still seeking Royalty Candidates for the 2019 Annual Hume Fair to be held July 30 though August 3. Deadline is June 9 for sign up. Please contact Heather Rogers, Denise Steuck, Erika Irwin or Karen Irwin or contact us on our face book page.
The Hume Alumni was held on Saturday evening, May 25. Attendance was down a little with 98 signing the register book. Everyone enjoyed looking at the Annuals that were placed throughout on the tables. The Garden Club as usual did a beautiful job with table decorations. Our servers did a great job keeping our drinks filled and our little napkin servers did a great job making sure everyone had plenty of napkins. Kathy Hester of Sisters and Friends and also a Hume Alumni catered the delicious meal. Unfortunately this was the last year she will cater it, we appreciate all the years she has provided our meal for the Alumni.
Norann Brooks was honored on Saturday evening for serving as Secretary the past 17 years. And of course everyone always enjoys the 50/50 and the gift certificate drawings that our held. A great time was held with lots of visiting and reminiscing.
