Rural Rich Hill man arrested in Vernon County

On Tuesday 6/4/19 the Nevada Police Department arrested 29 year old Frank J. Woodall, Jr. of rural Rich Hill.

Mr. Woodall was arrested for 1.) Class E Felony - 1st Degree Property Damage 2.) Felony - Resisting arrest.

He was booked into the Vernon County Jail in Nevada and placed on a $4,000 cash only bond.

Obituary - Joseph Charles Bost

Joseph Charles Bost, age 18, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019.
A Visitation Service will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, Missouri 64012. 
A Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019 followed by an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Sabina Catholic Church.
Joseph was born on January 9, 2001in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of James and Cherie (Richert) Bost. Growing up he had one brother, Christopher. Joseph attended Ray-Pec High School, where he recently earned his high school diploma. In addition to being a successful student, Joseph also worked at the local Casey’s Convenient Store.
Joseph had ambitions to attend the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence and obtain his Mechanic Certification. He loved working with anything that was hands-on and loved his five canine companions. Joseph was an avid video game player and was very committed to his previous time with the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Life Scout.
Joseph leaves behind his parents, James and Cherie Bost; brother Christopher Bost; and many friends.

Obituary - Daniel "Dan" Grant Brown

Daniel "Dan" Grant Brown, 68, Smithville, Missouri departed this life on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at his home surrounded by love and family.

He is survived by his wife, Tracey Brown of the home; a son, Daniel Brown Jr., State of Alabama; 3 grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Brown, Harrisonville, Missouri, Mike Brown, Smithville, Missouri; a sister, Pat Ysassi, Harrisonville, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Cremation. A Military Service and Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.

Obituary - Cori Marann (Hendrix) Herren

Cori Marann Herren, 26, Nevada, MO passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Midland, Texas. Cori was born September 26, 1992 in Nevada, MO to Gene and Melissa Hendrix. She married Nathan Herren on July 24, 2018 in Nevada and he survives of the home.

Cori was born and raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 2011. She attended the Missouri Welding Institute in Nevada and was currently working on an oil pipeline in Pecos, TX. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother.

In addition to her husband, Nathan, she is survived by one son, Princeton Hubbard of Nevada; her parents, Gene and Melissa Hendrix, Nevada; one brother, Joseph Hendrix, Nevada; one sister, Blayne Hendrix, Nevada; grandmother, Shirley Hendrix; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June10, 2019 at Moore Cemetery in Nevada with Mark Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorials are suggested to an Education Fund for her son Princeton in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
