BREAKING: Small plane crash near Adrian

The Adrian Fire Department and other first responders are in route to a report of a small plane crash near county road 255 and 9004 northeast of town. Initial reports are that people are trapped in the aircraft.

These photos were taken just a few moments ago and first responders are still working to assess status of occupants.

It appears the Cessna 425 aircraft was in route from Vero Beach Florida to Olathe Kansas and is owned by Santa Fe Investments, Inc.

One male subject was said to be on board the plane at the time of the crash and is deceased.

Bates County Nostalgia Band Concert

CONCERT IN THE PARK TONIGHT

The Bates County Nostalgia Band begins its 36th season of free summer concerts tonight, Monday, June 10 @ 7 pm, Butler City Park Quad Shelter.

The Bates County Elks will present their colorful and informative historical flag ceremony.

Lady Elks will have refreshments for sale.

Obituary - Ronald Thomas Shadwick

Ronald Thomas Shadwick, age 80, of Clinton, MO passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at his home.

Ronald was born July 3, 1938 to Thomas F. and Anna Bell ‘Hall’ Shadwick of Kansas City, MO. After high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps July 11, 1956 and served until July 10, 1959. Ronald then served in the Reserve until July 5, 1963. He married Leona Charlene Heitzman on July 16, 1960. Ronald worked as a sheet metal worker at Kenworth Motor Truck Company. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and playing his pedal steel guitar with his band at Clyde’s nightclub in North Kansas City. Ronald was a member of the Free Masons Golden Gate Lodge in Kansas City, was past Master of Sheffield Lodge #625 in Kansas City, and past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #2.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene; five children, Jennifer (Rick Harper) Shadwick, Cindy (Gerald) Kretzschmer, Ronda (Mike) Marek, Melinda (Mike) Snyder and Thomas Shadwick; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; three sisters, Frances, Beverly and Shirley; several nieces, nephews, friends and longtime friend, Tom Cochran.

Preceding Ronald in death were his parents; one brother, Roland; and one sister, Cheryl.

The family will receive visitors at Consalus Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Henry County Memory Fund and may be left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd St., Clinton, MO 64735.
