Update on missing Rockville man

UPDATE: The Silver Advisory for Mr. Philip Bartz has been cancelled. 

Unfortunately, the body of Mr. Bartz has been located on June 13, 2019. St. Clair County deputies were called to a location with information concerning Mr. Bartz around 4 p.m. 

Evidence at the scene led deputies to a pond. The body of Mr. Bartz, and the vehicle, were recovered from the pond. The family of Mr. Bartz has been notified.

Obituary - Jennifer Leigh Langley

Jennifer Leigh Langley age 43 of Independence, Missouri formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at her home.

Jennifer is survived by her father, Jackie Langley of Memphis, Tennessee; half brother, James Langley: half sister, Kim Waugh: other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Obituary - Pamela Arlene (Diffley) Smith

Pamela (also affectionately known as Mama Pam) Arlene Diffley Roberts-Smith of Nevada, Missouri was born May 7, 1950 at Atchison, Kansas to John (Jack) Ernest and June Arlene Harness Diffley, first born of eight children, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.

Pam worked in home health care until her retirement in 2010 after working two years at Fram before the plant closed.

Pamela was married to Walter S. Roberts June 23, 1978, in Roscoe, Missouri, Walter preceded her in death in 1991. Pam and Walt were residents of Kansas City, Kansas until Walter's retirement from General Motors at which time they moved to their retirement cabin in Roscoe, Missouri in 1990.

Pam's complete funeral service would have been gospel but she is trying to be easy on everyone!

Pam had no children of her own but was surrogate to 11 nieces and nephews whom she considered to be her greatest asset. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Raymond Smith, of the home in Nevada, her two "children" (her dauschaunds), Little Bud and Bandit. She is survived by three sisters, Anita Dennis of Gardner, Kansas, Rebecca Diffley and Carolyn Barber of Kansas City, Kansas, as well as three brothers, David (Cheryl) Diffley of Roscoe, Missouri, Keith (Diane) Diffley of Lawrence, Kansas, and John Diffley of Nortonville, Kansas. She is also survived by granddaughter, Lauren Roberts of Louisburg, Missouri and grandson, Lewis Roberts of Rantoul, Kansas. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Diffley, her parents and her grandparents as well a great niece, Stephanie Dawn Diffley. Pam is survived by daughter Branda Dare and grandchildren Ricky, Ryan, Autumn and Danielle. She is survived by several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Kenny Batson officiating. Interment will follow in a Pleasant Springs Cemetery in Oyer, MO. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.


Rich Hill 4th of July Carnival Pre-Sale Wristbands

Carnival Pre-Sale Wristbands go on sale tomorrow 6/14 at Citizens Bank in Rich Hill, Butler and Hume, and Food Fair in Rich Hill.
$20 each, they will be $25 at the gate. 

Wristbands are good for one night July 3, 5, and 6th 6:30-10:30 pm, and on July 4 5-9 pm. 

We recommend waiting until the carnival sets up before you purchase. Must be 36 inches tall to ride. Pre-Sale Wristbands will be sold until end of the day on July 2.


New Sex Offender Registered In Rural Rich Hill

Cletus A. Brown
Cletus A. Brown (DOB 7/7/1982) registered as a sex offender today in Bates County. He is residing at 1428 Sw State Route A in Rich Hill, MO.

Mr. Brown was convicted of 2nd Degree Statutory Rape on 6/8/2005 in Sedalia, MO.

He is classified as a Tier 3 Sex Offender.
