Tests of water samples over the course of the last two days have passed within DNR regulations for drinking water. 

As of the date and time listed above the precautionary water boil advisory has been lifted. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Motor Vehicle accident on H Highway east of Butler

The Bates County Sheriff's Office along with Butler Fire Department is on scene of a motor vehicle accident around the area of 5454 State Route H Highway east of Butler at this time.

Obituary - Herb A. Carter

Herb A. Carter, 66, Clinton passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at KU Med Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com

A Memorial service for Herb will be on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 2pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. Inurnment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.

Last summer, Bates County had one heat-related death. While that is a low number for a county of our size, even one heat death is too many. Let's shoot for zero this summer.

We can do that by checking on our friends and neighbors, especially those with health conditions or those without good air conditioning. You never know when a quick phone call or visit may save a life.

Fire on 49 near Rich Hill

The Butler fire department is currently assisting the Rich Hill department on a trailer on fire at the northbound I49 ramp at Rich Hill.

Use caution if in the area, we will provide an update as more information becomes available.


Missouri Job Center coming to Butler
