Military Appreciation Night at Nevada Speedway



This coming Saturday Night July 6th to Nevada Speedway, one of the biggest events of the season, our Firecracker show featuring our make up $500 to win Mini Stock event!! This will be a non-points race for the Mini Stocks. It will be $500 to win, with second place getting the normal first place pay. It will also be Military Appreciation Night, with all past/current active military personnel receiving FREE admission with proper I.D.

There will be a HUGE firework show during intermission!! Nevada Speedway never disappoints on their firework show and has one of the best in the four state area.

Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, Midwest Mods, B-Mods, A-Mods and Late Models will all be racing!!

GENERAL ADMISSION WILL BE JUST $10 for this event!! Kids ages 6-12 will be $5, and Kids under 6 will be FREE as always!!

Gates open at 4:30pm, Driver Cutoff at 6:30pm, Hot Laps at 7:00pm, with Racing at 7:30pm.

Kids ages 6-12: $15

PSA for Bates County~

Public Service Announcement: 

Missouri Governor Parson and the Chief Justices have signed an Order to close the Judicial and other State Offices in the State. 

With that being said Judge James Journey has NOT closed the Bates County Court on Friday July 5, 2019.

The court docket will proceed as scheduled. Any persons that has court on Friday is advised to follow up with ones counsel.

Appleton City Pee-Wee Girls Softball Team Complete Undefeated Season!

Jim Hogan recognized at the National TSA Convention

Congratulations is in order for long time Adrian teacher Jim Hogan for being recognized at the National TSA Convention by the National TSA Organization for the Distinguished Service Award!!! - 

Obituary - David Lee Chadd

David Lee Chadd, 72, Sheldon, MO passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019. David was born December 6, 1946 in Nevada, MO to George (Dode) Chadd and Ruby Richardson Chadd.

David was a lifelong resident of the Sheldon area. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. David worked in construction helping build the Nevada City Hospital and the new 71 Highway from Sheldon to Harrisonville. He also worked at Central States Press and Reed Dozing in Nevada.

David was proceeded in death by his parents and one grandson, Dalton Evan Chadd. Survivors include two sons, Steve Chadd and his wife Susan of Deerfield, and Doug Chadd and his wife Lori of Nevada; two brothers, Dale Chadd of Lowery City, and Denny Chadd and his wife Carol of El Dorado Springs, MO; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation held for family and friends to gather and celebrate David’s life from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorials are suggested to the Nevada VA Outreach Transportation Fund in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
