Have you seen this missing teen?

Good afternoon everyone, we are needing to help our friends with the Lee’s Summit Police Department. They are looking for a Missing juvenile named Alyah “Aly” Bodenhamer. Our department received information that Aly was spotted in Harrisonville on two different occasions today. 

She was reported to be in the area of Missouri 291 Highway near Walmart carrying a pink Vera Bradley backpack. It is also reported that she currently has a very short haircut. Our Officers conducted an extensive area search but could not find her.

Police looking for stolen trailer in Drexel

On July 28, 2019 a Deputy took a report of stolen property that was located at a residence on Willetta street in Drexel, MO. The victim stated that he left his property on 7/26/19 and when he returned on 7/28/19 he immediately noticed his trailer was gone from his driveway. His Polaris was inside the trailer.

A neighbor told the victim that on 7/27/19 she noticed a dark in color truck backed up to the trailer.

The stolen trailer is an enclosed utility trailer that is flat black in color and has black wheels. There is also a black air condition unit on top of the trailer. The license plate number on the trailer is 05F5BB. The Polaris is a 2019 RZR with a fabricated roll bar and a light bar. The top of the RZR is red gray and the bottom color is red.

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft stops in Butler this morning

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft stopped by the new Bates County Administration Building along with State Representative Patrica Pike this morning.

Secretary Ashcroft in each year of elected statewide office has to visit everyone of Missouri’s 114 counties and met with local election officials, library executives and business owners to promote the Office’s services and learn how he can help improve elections and support Missouri libraries and businesses. -

JEFFERSON CITY – Respect the Load. Share the Road. That’s the message you’ll be seeing across Missouri August 5-31 in a statewide campaign urging drivers to drive safely around big rigs. In turn, commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers will be reminded to obey traffic laws, use their seat belts, slow down and pay attention. 

“There were 146 people killed involving a CMV in 2018, with nearly 80% being drivers or passengers of other vehicles,” said Jon Nelson, MoDOT assistant to the state highway and traffic engineer. “Please don’t risk your life by driving aggressively around big trucks.”

Commercial motor vehicles make up 20% of Missouri’s interstate traffic, carry goods from coast to coast and are a vital part of our nation’s economy. They also provide critical services many Missourians rely on every day. When crashes involving tractor trailers happen, the disproportionate size of the large truck versus a car means those crashes can often involve serious injuries, or worse. Research shows that in the majority of these crashes, drivers of passenger cars unnecessarily endanger themselves by not paying attention and driving aggressively around big rigs. That’s why it’s so important for all motorists to drive safely around big trucks. Respect the load. Share the road.

The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety offers the following tips for driving safely around big rigs.

• Don’t cut off large trucks or buses. Make sure you can see the truck’s cab lights in your rearview mirror before moving back into your original lane.
• Stay out of the “No Zone.” Big rigs have large blind spots on either side and up to 200 feet behind a vehicle. Pass only on the left side. 
• Watch your following distance. Keep a safety cushion around trucks.  Can you see the truck’s side mirrors? If not, the driver cannot see you.

Obituary - Phillip Gene Schneider, Jr.

Phillip Gene Schneider, Jr., age 51, Nevada, MO passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 in Nevada. Phillip was born January 10, 1968 in Columbus, GA to Phillip Gene Schneider, Sr. and Patricia Ann Mathews.

Phillip grew up in the St. Louis area and came to Nevada in 1990. For several years Phillip lived and worked in Overland Park, working as a cook for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and playing video games.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia Massie, Nevada; father, Phillip G. Schneider, Sr., St. Louis, MO; sisters, Tracie Foggy, St. Louis, MO, Regina Gensler, Nevada, and Kendra Schneider, St. Louis; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
