New Student Enrollment in the Butler School District

Butler School District Students new to the district may enroll on Wednesday, July 31, or Thursday, August 1, from 9 am to 2 pm in the counselor's office at the high school.

Today, Harrisonville Rotary President Nancy Shelton presented a check to Harrisonville Just4Me co-coordinator Vanessa Zaroor Hargrave based on the proceeds of the club's trap shoot event which was put together by Rotarian Chris Deal (also pictured).

Obituary - Carl E. Chamberlain

Carl Edwin Chamberlain, 71, of East Lynne, MO, passed away on July 30, 2019 at his home after a long illness. A dinner will be held at East Lynne City Hall on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 2:00 pm in his honor. Meats will be provided and side dishes would be welcomed by his family.

Carl retired from Allied Concrete Products in Grandview, MO after 30 years of service to his adopted Furey and Maguire family. He loved to hunt and fish with many family and friends before and after his retirement, especially with his dad, brothers and boys. Carl was a lifelong Cass County, MO resident and was a 1965 graduate of Harrisonville High School.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Blanchie Marie Chamberlain, daughter, Misty Dawn Nichol, brother, Sidney Dale Chamberlain and mother of his children, Karen Roberts Chamberlain.

Carl is survived by his father, Carl Jerry Chamberlain of Warsaw, MO; his wife, Polly Evans of the home; sons, Carl Wayne Chamberlain and Mark Edward Chamberlain of Harrisonville; grandchildren, Payton Chamberlain of Lee’s Summit, Tyler Nichol, Chance Chamberlain and Mackina Chamberlain of Harrisonville, MO; brothers, Ronald Chamberlain of Osceola, MO, Aaron Chamberlain and Robert Chamberlain of East Lynne, MO and Glenn Chamberlain of Butler, MO; sisters, Joyce Todd of Kenefic, OK, Wanda Bell of Holden, MO, Pearl Dodson of Greenbriar, AR and Deanna Chamberlain of Independence, MO; and the many, many cousins, nieces and nephews he will leave behind, well loved, along with many dear friends.


Obituary - Dennis Ray Priddy

Dennis Ray Priddy, age 65, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Dennis was born on May 12, 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas to Homer and Ruby Priddy. He attended Saint Anthony’s Elementary School and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1972. Dennis worked for UPS for over 25 years on the evening sort, Loss Prevention Department, Customer Service, and as a Package Car Driver. He truly treasured his relationships with his customers, always ready to put a smile on their faces with a joke or comment. He had a passion for Harleys. Time spent at the family cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks was a valuable part of his life. Entertaining and family filled his life with pleasure. As a teenager and young adult, Dennis spent many happy hours playing guitar with his grandfather Haworth. His daughters, Ashley Rose and Denise Erin were the apples of his eyes.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Rudy Priddy.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Georgiana Priddy; daughter Ashley Priddy; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and James Hickey; step-son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Ashley Huber; step-daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Michael Wheat; step-daughter and son-in-law, Shanna and John Watt; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Herb Hembry; brother and sister-in-law David and Judy Priddy; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Bill Hauskins; brother-in-law George Feeney; grandchildren, James Gregory, Mercedez, James (Mister), Thomas, Joseph, Abigail, AJ, Kayden, Landon, Savannah, and Jackson; and many nephews and nieces and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Peculiar United Methodist Church, 20521 S. School Rd., Peculiar, Missouri 64078.

2019 National Night Out in Nevada



Come on out to the Walton Aquatic Center in Nevada, Missouri next Tuesday August 6th from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm and celebrate the 36th Annual National Night Out with us! Several vendors will be in attendance. 

We will have swimming, food, drinks and giveaways throughout the event!
