Roadwork in Archie

MoDOT completed resurfacing the section of SW Outer Road south of Pine Street in Archie today.

This was done in conjunction with the work completed on I-49 this summer!

Obituary - Lena Anne Shelton

Lena Anne Shelton, 45, of Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at her home in Harrisonville. Cremation with a memorial service at a later date.

A complete obituary will be posted when it becomes available.


Stolen Vehicles Recovered During Search Warrant in Drexel

Cass Co – On Monday morning investigators with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Agents of the Missouri Department of Conservation executed a search warrant at a house in the 32000 block of S. St. Rt. O Drexel, Missouri.

Investigators searched the property for stolen items and narcotics related to an ongoing investigation in Henry County.

During the search authorities located and recovered an ATV stolen from Harrisonville on July 23, 2019. Detectives also located New Holland Skid Steer and flatbed trailer stolen from Kansas City in June 17, 2019. Investigators also located a firearm and suspected narcotics.


Three subjects taken into custody on unrelated charges and warrants were transported to the Cass County Jail.
Cory E. Harding, 31, Lake Annette Mo. Harding is charged with:
E Felony Driving While Revoked, and issued a Signature Bond.
Jacob R. Long, 25, East Lynne Mo. Long was arrested on 7 warrants:
Failure to Appear Driving While Suspended, City of East Lynne, bond $100.00
Failure to Appear Speeding, City of East Lynne, bond $100.00
Failure to Appear Ordinance, City of Blue Springs, bond $500.00
Failure to Appear Summons X4, City of Pleasant Hill, bond $650.00
Andrea N. Kelley, 39, Lake Annette, Mo. Kelley was arrested on 2 warrants:
Assault, Johnson County Kansas, bond $10,000 Cash Only
Probation Violation, Wyandotte County Kansas, No Bond
Fugitive from Out of State, Cass County Missouri, bond $10,000 Cash Only

MOCHIP, Missouri Child Identification Program event in Butler

On Saturday, August 17th, 2019 the local Masonic Lodges along with the Bates County Health Dept will be hosting MOCHIP, Missouri Child Identification Program. This a free service offered by the Missouri Masons and the Masonic Children's Home. It is a program set up to act as a safety net, should any terrible happen to your child, ages, 0-18. Bring your child to the MOCHIP event on the the 17th, where they will be fingerprinted, photographed, and have dental identification done. This information will then be put on a free CD that is given to you to keep incase your child is ever abducted or lost. This information helps law enforcement tremendously! This day and age we must do all we can to protect our children.
