Obituary - William C. Ketner

William C. Ketner, age 86, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Lincoln, Missouri. He was born on April 15, 1933 in Harrisonville, Missouri the son of Loyd and Thelma (Mason) Ketner and was baptized in the creek at South Fork Baptist Church.

On January 1, 1953 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Rush in Archie, Missouri. Soon after Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served as a flight mechanic on an Amphibian Aircraft for Sea and Air Rescue. He was honorably discharged in 1957.

After service he was employed at Kuhlman Die Casting, Greenlease Cadillac and O’Connor Cadillac. He purchased Scotch Wash in 1968 and his self employment began. Bill and Mary Lou have lived at Truman Lake and the Ozarks for forty-one years, moving permanently to the area in 1990. This is where Bill really began enjoying his horses. His training and competing in cutting competitions was the real joy of his life.

Bill is survived by his wife Mary Lou Ketner, of the home, a daughter Kathy Ketner, of Warsaw, a son Ron Ketner, and his wife JoLinda, of Bonner Springs, Kansas, two grandchildren; Michael Ketner and Courtney Ketner, a sister Eunice Napton, of Drexel, Missouri, several loving and caring nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Ketner and a brother-in-law Clyde Napton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, Missouri. Lunch will follow the service at the Archie Baptist Church in Archie, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Benton County Cancer Fund or the Archie Baptist Church. A special thanks to Benton County Hospice and Bothwell Hospital for all the exceptional care given to Bill and his family.

Bagby to recieve FFA Degree

Congratulations to Adrian FFA Member Trenton Bagby for being selected to receive his American FFA Degree this November at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

In other news, Keaton Cook will be serving as Sentinel for the 2019-2020 school year. His SAE project is working for the school during the summer. Keaton’s favorite FFA memory is trap shooting. Keaton’s goal for the chapter this year is he wants to see everyone do their best on contest teams. He also wants to see more attendance in all FFA activities, not just big meetings. Keaton is looking forward to serving as this year’s chapter sentinel.

Street Closure in Nevada on Thursday

I-49 Outer Road (Industrial Parkway) CLOSED east of I-49 at Exit 103 between Highland Avenue and Murphy Hill Road in #Nevada from 12:01 a.m.-6 a.m., Thursday, August 15 so MoDOT crews can perform repair work on Industrial Parkway to smooth driving surface.

Traffic Impacts:
• Both lanes of Industrial Parkway will be CLOSED north of Highland Avenue where crews are set up working
• Drivers will not be able to travel through the work zone, but will be able to access Industrial Parkway south of Highland Avenue
• Drivers are urged to find alternate routes
• No signed detours are planned, but signs and message boards will alert drivers to closing
