Updated Obituary - Alaric James Womack

Alaric James Womack, age 9, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at home.

A celebration of Alaric’s life will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083.

Alaric was born in the summer of 2010 on July 29th to Jason and Amanda (Medcalf) Womack in Kansas City, Missouri. Alaric was a spirited, bright and caring boy. He was a loving brother to Conall and sweet son to Amanda and Jason. Alaric had a special fondness for animals and loved to snuggle and play with his dog, Sentry. He could be found enjoying the outdoors, riding his bike or scooter, playing at the park, and swimming. He enjoyed all forms of gaming with friends and family, especially playing Minecraft with his dad and brother. A fun-loving Marvel movie fan, Alaric loved to cheer on the good guy superheroes at home or at the movies.

Alaric had an amazing capacity for showing unconditional love and kindness to family and friends. Those who had the joy of being in his life will dearly miss Alaric’s compassionate heart. We are truly thankful for the blessing of having him in our lives, even if it was only for a short while. Alaric is survived by his younger brother Conall, Mother and Father, Amanda and Jason, and many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, grand-parents, and great grand-parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri & Kansas.

Miami County Kansas Wanted Wednesday




Archie man injured in Cass County Crash

On 10/2/19 around 12:20pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies and Harrisonville Police Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of I-49 around mile marker 158.2.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1998 Ford F-150 driven by 71 year old Harley L. Dunsworth of Archie, Missouri struck the rear of the 2015 Ford F-150 driven by 33 year old Jessica A. Huron of Joplin, Missouri as it was slowing from a crash ahead.

Harley L. Dunsworth sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by Harrisonville Fire to Belton Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Mr. Dunsworth's truck was towed from the scene of this crash by Miller Tow of Harrisonville, Missouri.

Update: Two vehicle accident on 69 Highway this morning

On 10/2/19 around 6:39am the Kansas State Highway Patrol responded to a two vehicle accident on US-69 Highway around two miles north of K-52 east (Amoret Exit).

The Kansas State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2004 Pontiac Montana van driven by 46 year old Kristi Leigh Huggins of Osawatomie, Kansas was southbound on US-69 Highway when she crossed the grass median and began traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of traffic. The van struck a northbound 2010 Hyundai Sonata driven by 31 year old Jeffery W. Gourd of Overland Park, Kansas.

Kristi Leigh Huggins sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Jeffery W. Gourd sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported to Miami County Medical Center for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by Saker Towing.
