Update: Urich man injured in semi truck rollover

On 10/14/19 around 4:45pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Urich and Adrian Fire Departments responded to a one vehicle rollover accident at Route MM and Route BB in rural Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway says the accident occurred when the 1991 GMC driven by 78 year old Everett D. Fields of Urich, Missouri failed to negotiate a T-Intersection and traveled off the west side of BB Highway and overturning.

Mr. Fields sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The truck was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by J's Southland Tow.


Semi truck rollover accident

The Adrian Fire Department along with Urich Fire Department is in route to a semi truck rollover accident 12900 NE State Route BB Highway and State Route MM near Urich at this time.

The roadway is blocked and the semi was said to be loaded with corn.

Obituary - John D Kiefer

John D. Kiefer, 96, Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by love and family.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the United Methodist Church, 2600 E. Mechanic, Harrisonville, MO with burial in the Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the church.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisonville Parks and Rec.

Missouri State High School Activities Association to recognize 1999 Rich Hill High School Football Championship Team

The Missouri State High School Activities Association will continue its annual Traditions Program this fall with the recognition of the state qualifiers from the football championships on the 20th anniversary of their memorable appearance. This year, MSHSAA hopes to bring back the players and coaches from the Class 1 Rich Hill High School team and others that qualified during the 1999 Show-Me Bowl.

MSHSAA will provide complimentary tickets for the group to attend a special recognition ceremony held prior to the Class 1 championship game at Faurot Field in Columbia on Saturday, December 7, 2019. The ceremony will begin at 2:35 pm with kickoff at 3:00 pm.

Coaches and players planning to attend should contact Ashley Arwood, Athletic Director, at aarwood@richhill.k12.mo.us or 417-395-4191 no later than November 8.
