Obituary - Rexford Lee Hurshman

Rexford Lee Hurshman, 63 of Butler, Missouri passed away October 24, 2019. Cremation, with memorial services to be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler 660-679-0009

Rex was born November 25, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to John E. and Naomi Masters Hurshman. He attended school in Blue Springs and Butler, Missouri. Rex married Lana Boley on December 2, 1973. Three sons were born from this union, Hans C. Hurshman, Brandon L. Hurshman, and Benjamin I. Hurshman. Rex loved to listen to all types of music, watching documentaries, and reminiscing with friends and family. He was an excellent cook, and loved all kids and animals. He touched many lives and will be forever missed.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents and son Hans Hurshman. He is survived by his sons Brandon Hurshman and wife Melissa of Kingsville, MO., and Benjamin Hurshman and girlfriend Billie of Butler, MO., grandchildren, Chelsey Hurshman and Sebastian Hurshman and wife Allyssa, along with a great-grandchild Ayden all of Blue Springs, MO., brothers John Hurshman, Jr., Charles Hurshman, Raleigh Hurshman, and Ricky Hurshman, as well as many cousins, extended family members, and friends.


Obituary - Elaine Hope Thomas

Elaine Hope Thomas age 73 of Butler passed away Monday, October 21st at Center Point Hospital in Independence, MO. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2nd at the Heuser Funeral Home in Rich Hill with burial to follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery. 

Memorials to the Friends of the Green Lawn Cemetery are suggested and can be left in care of the Heuser Funeral Home.

Obituary - Sybil Chaplin

Sybil May Fehr Chaplin, age 94, of Fort Scott, Kansas peaceably joined her departed family and friends late Saturday, October 26, 2019. Sybil was born on May 25, 1925 to Dewey Higday and Ruth June Brittingham Fehr in Pleasanton, Kansas where she grew up. She married George Lee Chaplin on July 18, 1946 in Prescott, Kansas, together they raised a daughter and son and lived most of their married life in Pleasanton. 

Sybil loved cooking for her family and friends, reading, doing puzzles and playing her piano. Her passion in life was time spent with family. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Pleasanton and a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Sybil is survived by her daughter Ruth Ann Weaver and husband, Darvin of Mulberry, Kansas and by her son, Rodney G. Chaplin and wife Vickie of Fort Scott. Five grandchildren, Rodney G. Chaplin, Gretchen Ann Miller and husband Shawn, Daniel E. Weaver, Rory G. Chaplin and wife Lisa, and Darrin E. Weaver and wife Hattie. Five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Grady and Brynna Miller, Abel and Myah Chaplin. Also surviving is one sister-in-law Edith Post and husband Howard, and numerous nieces, nephews and very special friends.

Her family will celebrate her life on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Schneider Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Fulton, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to the American Heart Association, they may be mailed in care of Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory P.O. Box 525 Pleasanton, Kansas 66075. Obituary - Bill Yost

Bill Yost, 61 of Butler, Missouri departed this world on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Cremation, with a Celebration of Life to begin at 4:00 PM Friday, November 1, 2019 at Mullinax Funeral Home (660) 679-0009 in Butler with Scott Mallatt presiding. 

Visitation will continue after services until 5:30 PM at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will be at a later time in Pennsboro Cemetery near Greenfield, Missouri. Messages and memories for the family may be left online at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Bill was born on June 24th, 1958 in Butler Missouri. Bill grew up most of his youth in Butler, and attended high-school there. In lieu of a typical graduation, in the year 1976 Bill joined the Missouri National Guard. During his 18 years serving in the National Guard, Bill received his GED and continued through a technical education program becoming a Master Electrician. Bill worked for Wolf Creek Powerplant in Burlington, Kansas for a few years before owning and operating his own business, Woodson County Plumbing, in Yates Center Kansas. He then moved to Springfield Missouri and worked for several contractors as a Master Electrician, eventually retiring as Plant Operator from Ash Grove Aggregates. Even in retirement Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand with all of his learned trades. In 1979 Bill Married Teresa Lee Wainscott at Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church near Ballard Missouri. From this union 2 sons were born. Jesse Dwaine Yost and Lonnie Lee Yost. Bill's true joys in life were his children and his granddaughter from beginning to end. He cherished every moment spent with them. Bill is survived by two sons. Jesse Yost and his wife Andrea. Lonnie Yost and his wife Haylee; One granddaughter Carmen Lee Yost. All of Pleasant Hill Missouri; One brother, Steven Yost and his wife Joy of Harvest Alabama; One sister Michelle Schroeder and her husband Gene of Butler Missouri; 10 neices and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews, and many others who considered him "Uncle Bill". Bill was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Barbara Yost; and One sister Verna Haines.

Neices and Nephews: Abby, Michael, Lila Kay, Tyler, Leah, Matthew, Josh, Hillary, Blaine, and Breauna.
Great Neices and Nephews: Piper, Mackenzie, Sadie, Mariah, Mathew, Lily, Finley, and Layla.
