Obituary - Dennis R. Johnson

Dennis R. Johnson, 60 of LaPorte, Indiana passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Cremation, with memorial services to be held at a later date.

Dennis Ray Johnson was born March 29, 1959 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Harold and Bonnie Dougherty Judah. He served in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician. Following discharge, he attended and graduated from DeVry University with a degree in Electronics. After graduation he held many different positions in commercial surveillance companies.

In 2002 Dennis had the honor of being hand selected to join the surveillance team for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.

When he wasn’t working, Dennis loved teaching bible studies and addiction recovery seminars.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his father Harold Judah. Dennis is survived by his son Daniel Johnson, daughter Brenna Johnson, his mother Bonnie Stevenson and step-father Dave Stevenson, sister Patty Lamb (Johnson), and sister Linda Gail Guidry (Judah).

Stealing reported in Nevada




Ft. Scott Kansas woman injured in Vernon County Crash

On 10/30/19 around 6:30am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 54 Highway around 3 miles west of Deerfield, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2007 Chevrolet HHR driven by 56 year old Julia M. Casady of Ft. Scott, Kansas struck a deer in the roadway, then the vehicle struck a guardrail. 

Julia M. Casady sustained minor injuries and she was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The vehicle was towed from the scene of the accident by Saker Tow of Ft. Scott, Kansas.

Obituary - Alejandro Chavez Landa

Alejandro Chavez Landa, age 23, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at St. Sabina Catholic Church 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, Missouri 64012. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a burial immediately following at Belton Cemetery in Belton, Missouri.
