Address concerns prompt calls

From the Bates County Sheriff's Office

In last few days we have had several people call in regards to their 911 address not being recognized by Google maps.  While the address data base that we maintain is public record and shared with map companies we can not guarantee that their system will convert it correctly.  This has been the case recently with addresses south of Butler showing up as a Passiac addresses.  We have however discovered that you can go on google maps and correct your address.   You can use the add a missing place drop down on google maps to add your correct address.

This may affect deliveries during the Christmas season and deliveries in general.

*while the address files are public records the Sheriff's Office does not share the name attached to address with these private companies.  Although the county map system is open to the public with that information available
