Milo woman arrested in Vernon County

On 12/21/19 around 8:10pm the Missouri State Highway in Vernon County arrested 57 year old Caremetta L. Compton of Milo, Missouri.

She was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated.

Carmetta L. Compton was booked into the Vernon County Jail in Nevada and she was placed on a 12 hour detox hold.

El Dorado Springs man arrested in Bates County

On 12/21/19 around 10:16pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 44 year old Cory D. Martin of El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

Mr. Martin was arrested for 1.) Felony Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia 3.) Speeding.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and later was released.

Butler woman injured in early Sunday morning crash

On 12/22/19 around 6:40am the Missouri State Highway in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies, Butler Police Department, Butler Fire Department and Bates County EMS responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 52 Highway at CR NW 3502 in rural Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2011 Nissan Rogue driven by 79 year old Betty L. Routen of Butler, Missouri traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a sign and overturned.

Betty L. Routen sustained moderate injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the crash by Douty's Tow of Butler.

Butler Bears Wrestling News 12/21/19




The Butler Bears Wrestling Team placed 11th out of 42 teams at The Battle in Sedalia wrestling tournament. Below are those who placed: 

Brendin Patrick 126# 1st place 
Ostin Vanvorst 145# 6th place
Jade Warmbrodt 170# 5th place



Down to the final touches

The new gymnasium at Miami R-1 is nearing completion as the goals are up and a new floor is next. The project is expected to be complete shortly after the first of the year.
