Dusenberry named Miami Student of the Month
The Miami Student of the Month is Senior, Jacob Dusenberry, son of Louis and Melissa Dusenberry. Jacob is much into Basketball, but finds time for fishing and baseball. Staff at Miami state, “Jacob has been an instrumental part of my seventh grade class as my peer tutor. He has made a huge impact on these younger classmen. Jacob stresses the importance of listening to your teachers, staying organized, and just doing the work they are assigned. Jacob does each task asked of him and sets a good example for my younger students. I am very proud of him.” Jacob has a favorite saying, “You can see the future. It’s right behind your eyes.” He plans to go the Fort Scott College.
Shipley earns student of the month
The Adrian Student of the Month for December is Senior, Jenna Shipley, daughter of Shawn and Amy Shipley. Jenna’s activities are Volleyball, Basketball, Track, NHS, and Student Council. She states, “You may not end up where you thought you were going, but you will always end up where you were meant to be.” Adrian MS/HS Principal Abe Lewis states, “Jenna is an amazing young lady. She is a role model for all students in our building. Her talents and accomplishments are very deserving because of her hard work, determination, and the high moral character that she possesses. There is no doubt that she will be successful in her future.” Jenna plans to attend Pittsburg State University to become a dietician and she will play basketball and run track. -courtesy Adrian Optimist Club

The Bates County Museum is sponsoring a special Christmas Eve broadcast on 92.1 Kmoe The Bullet Hit Music Radio at 7:00 pm. Originally aired in 1939, the timeless classic radio broadcast 'A Christmas Carol' will be aired. Tune in to enjoy and begin your own Christmas tradition.

Santa now at Butler Senior Center
Come play lunch Bingo with them and get a prize from the Christmas tree! We will be dining on chicken & noodles or liver & onions, mashed potatoes with gravy, peas, Waldorf salad, wheat roll, and tapioca pudding.
