Rain moves in late tonight & sticks around until early Sunday morning.

Isolated storms are possible Saturday afternoon/evening across the area, with a few strong to severe storms possible in central MO. The main concern right now is wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Moderate to heavy rain is expected Saturday evening.

Nebraska man arrested in Bates County

On 12/27/19 around 12:37am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 27 year old Ryan A. Fields of Omaha, Nebraska.

Mr. Fields was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated 2.) Careless and Imprudent Driving.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and placed on a 12 hour detox hold.

Double Fatality Accident In Vernon County

On 12/26/19 around 9:41pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Nevada Fire Department, Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies and Vernon County Ambulance District responded to a one vehicle accident on High BB around 4 miles south of Nevada.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1997 Honda Civic driven by 21 year old  Benjamin L. Rash of El Dorado Springs, Missouri ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Benjamin L. Rash along with a passenger in his vehicle 21 year old Jacob A. Guerrero of Sheldon, Missouri both were killed in this accident.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by Garwood's Wrecker Service of Nevada, Missouri. 

This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 113th and 114th Fatality accident of 2019.

Neither occupants were wearing seat belts.

Breaking: Fire at former dog food plant

Butler Fire has been dispatched along with Adrian Fire to the former dog food plant location on Rice road in Butler on a reported structure fire.

No additional details are available at this time; it is being reported that all occupants are out of the building. More information will be posted soon.

Obituary - John "Jack" Chatham

John “Jack” Charles Chatham, age 70 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, December 24 2019 at Medicalodge in Butler. He was born June 2, 1949 to Woodrow Bryan and Norma Uytendale Glassmire in Seagraves, Texas.

Jack is survived by his sister, Sue Woodward of Murrieta, California; one brother, Woodrow Bryan Chatham Jr. and wife Cathy of San Diego, California; nephew, Woodrow Bryan Chatham III of Odessa, Texas; and nieces, Jacqueline Woodward of Pasadena, California, Rachel Woodward of Studio City, California and Connie Chatham Rooney and husband Jay of McKinney, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Karl Lin Lehmann
Karl Lin Lehmann, 56, Nevada, MO passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 following a brief illness. Karl was born September 30, 1963 in Nevada to Karl W. and Linda (Bise) Lehmann.

Karl was a lifelong resident of Nevada and attended Nevada High School. He has worked in the family business, “Karl’s Garage”, for the past 43 years. Karl had a love for racing, he has raced cars at Nevada Speedway and various other places for 32 years. 


Although his hobby was his racing cars, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and also his racing family.

Survivors include five children, Cheryl Lindsay, Fayetteville, NC, Kenneth Lindsay, Fayetteville, NC, Kati Lehmann (Scott), Nevada, MO, Tristin Johnson (Jesse), Nevada, MO, Kaci Walker, Nevada, MO; seven grandchildren, Heaven, Kira, Bo, Annabelle, Amelia, Azelia, Avalin; his father, Karl W. Lehmann, Nevada, MO; three brothers, Robert Lehmann (Rayann), Nevada, Dustin Milligan (Judy), Lamar, MO, Michael Lehmann (Karen), Nixa, MO; two sisters, Regina Bennett (Michael), Springfield, MO, Kandi Gendron (Wayne), Las Cruces, NM; numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, and an infant brother, Darrel Lehmann.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
