Here We Grow Again!

Right Choice Truck and Tire in Butler will be moving !We will make the official announcement when the new shop is up and we are ready to call you all and ask for help moving but projection is late Spring 2020.


Our new facility will be on the NW corner of the I-49 and Hwy 52 west intersection, just west of El Charros (that did play a part in the location decision :-) ). See "X" marks the spot picture below.

The New shop will sit in the spot most of you refer to as "Where they were going to build the church". We will have drive thru bays to service your big rigs, along with several bays for Light Truck and passenger vehicles and a lovely new customer waiting area.

We will have plenty of room to navigate for the Tractor trailers and Larger trucks and tons of parking.

The existing building will house the Troublefree Transportation offices, Along with a drivers lounge, shower facility and laundry for Troublefree drivers when they are passing thru or getting new tires.

We are excited and Thankful to have accrued this property and look forward to serving our customers and our community for many years to come.


Harrisonville man injured in Cass County motorcycle crash

On 1/9/20 around 4:16pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a one vehicle motorcycle accident on the outer road of I-49 just north of 307th Street in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2003 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by 52 year old Eric A. Wayne of Harrisonville, Missouri braked and began to skid, the bike traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver off the bike.

Eric A.Wayne sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The bike was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by J's Southland Tow.



Obituary - Jaunita B Wesemann

Jaunita B Wesemann of Harrisonville, Missouri was born December 7, 1921 in Garden City, Missouri the daughter of Edwin Fred and Florence L. (Long) McGraw. 

She departed this life on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Crown Care Center, Harrisonville at the age of 98 years, 1 month and 1 day.

On September 20, 1939, Jaunita was united in marriage to George Francis Wesemann in Butler, Missouri.

Jaunita was a homemaker. She attended the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, Missouri and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star 215 Ivy Leaf Chapter, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Jaunita enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing and growing a garden.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Wesemann; a brother, Edwin Fred McGraw Jr.; two sisters, Bonnie Lee McWilliams and Barbara Lucille Denton.

Jaunita is survived by three sons, Francis Dewaine Wesemann, Stockton, Missouri, Clifford Lee Wesemann and wife Bonnie, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Karl Eugene Wesemann and wife Janet, Kearney, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; other relatives and friends.

Cremation. A private family service will be held at a later date at Crescent Hill Cemetery near Adrian, Missouri.

Obituary - Donna Rose Rolando

Donna Rose Rolando, 71, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at her home in Joplin, MO following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 10, 1948 in Fort Scott, Kansas, the second child to the union of Albert F. Newton and Rosie Mae (Elliott) Hardin.

Donna was married to Terry E. Rolando on June 2, 1981 and he survives of the home.

Donna worked for her mom at the boarding home in Nevada, MO for a number of years. She then worked at Nevada Habilitation center from 1978-1987 until she was injured on the job. Donna was a kind and compassionate person who loved life and her family, always putting her family before herself. She loved to bake, trying different recipes. Her hobbies included crocheting afghans, putting puzzles together and reading Intrigue/Romance books, and Flea Marketing. Donna was always there for family and friends for either giving advice or a shoulder to lean on. Holidays were a special time, and also when her grandbabies were born. This is a quote from her in regards to her big family, “Oh! My goodness look what I’ve started.

In addition to her husband Terry, she is survived by one son, Robert Nichols and his wife Lisa of Bronaugh, MO; one daughter, Luella (Genie) Hewitt of Laclede, MO, daughter-in-law, Cindy (Wiese) Nichols of Thayer, MO; 12 grandchildren, Travis Anderson of Nevada, MO, Brian Anderson and his wife Linda of Jefferson City, MO, Maudie Snare of Reeds, MO, LaDonna Fleener and Greg of Nevada, MO, Timothy Nichols and his wife Roberta of Sheldon, MO, Andrea Moore and her husband Arik of Bronaugh, MO, Scotland Dice of Joplin, MO, Danny Smith and his wife Amanda of Aurora, MO, Alexis Smith and Matthew of Aurora, MO, Shae Malcom of Joplin, MO, Skye Malcom of Butler, MO, Malachi Randall of Nashville, TN; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; two siblings, Reta Carpenter and her husband Daniel of Nevada, MO; Tammy Johnson and her husband David of Nevada, MO; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Louisa Martin; one son, Clarence “Marty” Nichols; one brother, Albert “Sonny” Newton; two sisters, Teresa Robertson and Mary Phelps.

A visitation for the family will be from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with graveside services following at 2:00 p.m. at Welborn Cemetery in Moundville, MO with Pastor Dan Davis officiating.

Memorials are suggested in her memory to the American Lung Association c/o Ferry Funeral Home.


Congratulations Hunter Nelson

Cass Career Center EMT student Hunter Nelson, a Senior from Adrian High School, was recognized as the January Young Professional of the Month at CCC. 

The CCC Young Professional of the Month award is given out monthly to an outstanding Junior and Senior at CCC. 

Awards are sponsored by the Harrisonville Rotary Club and the Cass County Elks Lodge #2791.

Two Arrested After Raid of Rural Nevada Home

According to Officials with the Sheriff’s Office, two Nevada residents were taken into custody after Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence on E. Nellie Rd in rural Nevada, MO on Tuesday afternoon. 

Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said, “a female was located hiding in a closet and arrested for multiple Felony warrants out of Bates County, MO”. 

Suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was located during the search. The suspects have been identified as 36-year-old Codey Cummings, of Nevada and 33-year-old Julia Cummings, of Nevada. 

On Wednesday morning, warrants were issued by the Courts charging both Codey and Julia with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Both Codey and Julia are being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.

Flags to be lowered to honor fallen firefighter

Governor Mike Parson has ordered the U.S. and Missouri flags to be flown at half-staff at government buildings in Cass County and fire houses across the state on Saturday, January 11, 2020, in honor of West Peculiar Fire Protection District Firefighter – Paramedic Charles McCormick. McCormick died in the line of duty bravely fighting a residential fire in West Peculiar on Jan. 5, 2020.

Weather prompts schedule changes

From Archie High School:
Due to the projection for inclement weather, the Archie basketball games scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2020 are now scheduled for an earlier start time. The Varsity games will begin in the Dome at 4:30 p.m. The Junior Varsity games will begin at the same time in the West Gymnasium. The Court Warming Coronation Ceremony will be at half time of the Varsity Boys game.

• The Court Warming dance following the games has been moved to 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. (Unless cancelled due to weather)
• A decision will be made on Friday, January 10, 2020 as to the band trip that is currently scheduled for Saturday, January 11, 2020


Likewise, this from Appleton City High School:

The games at Archie tomorrow, 1/10/20, will begin at 4:30 instead of 5:30. This is due to the possibility of freezing precipitation moving into the area tomorrow night. JV boys will play at 4:30 in the gym, and varsity girls will play in the dome at 4:30. Following those games, JV girls will play in the gym and varsity boys will play in the dome. 

This from Rich Hill High School:
Due to the possibility of inclement weather moving into the area tomorrow evening, the start time for basketball at Osceola has been moved to 4:30 pm. The schedule of games remains the same.
