Top notch status for Butler volleyball players
These Butler volleyball players earned All State Academic (not pictured Annalee Gardner). To be considered, players must play 75% of Varsity matches and a 3.6 cumulative GPA including the 2019 Fall semester. Congratulations!
Fire on Main Street in Drexel
The building is known as This and That Thrift store, and efforts continue to contain fire as other buildings including a storage facility are very close in proximity.
Drexel Fire is being assisted by West Dolan and Adrian Fire departments; more information to be posted as it becomes available. No injuries have been reported.

Obituary - David Trinkle
The family of David Trinkle sadly regrets to announce his passing. David lost his battle with cancer January 16, 2020. He was in the VA Hospital in Kansas City, MO. David was born Dec. 23, 1950 in La Cygne, Ks. He was a Vietnam Veteran of which he was very proud.
He lived in La Cygne a number of years, owed and operated the La Cygne Standard Station as well as being the city policeman and ambulance driver.
Along with his mother he owned The Outpost Bar for almost 20 yrs. He later made his residence in Kansas City, MO until the time of his death. He leaves behind his children; Missy Smith, Lanna Moore, Chris Trinkle and Jamie Brooks (Mitch); his brother, Larry Trinkle (Evey), a sister, Marla Chambers; nieces, nephews, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and many many friends.
Funeral service will be 10 am Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Monday at the Schneider Chapel. Contributions are suggested to Wounded Warriors or American Cancer Society, c/o Schneider Funeral Home.

STOLEN VEHICLE -- 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4, extended cab pickup truck, dark green in color, with silver tool box in the truck's bed, bearing MO registration 0HB-Z98.
Truck was taken between 10:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17th to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18th, 2020, from West 10th Street, Calhoun, MO.
