One person dead after police pursuit of stolen vehicle

On March 1, 2020 Henry County Sheriffs Deputies were advised of a stolen vehicle from the City of Clinton.

The vehicle was spotted later in Windsor where Cpl. Richardson and Deputy Foster attempted a traffic stop of the stolen vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle failed to yield and attempted to elude deputies.

The vehicle pursuit continued into Benton County, where at the intersection of US Hwy 65, deputies lost sight of the vehicle.

A short time later a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper spotted the vehicle northbound on US Hwy 65 and attempted to stop the vehicle also. The driver continued to disobey law enforcement attempts to stop it.

The suspect vehicle entered Sedalia and a short time later crashed into several other vehicles at an intersection in Sedalia.

The crash resulted in the moderate injury of the driver of the stolen vehicle and the fatality of a driver in another vehicle. The investigation is continuing
