Obituary - Lorenza Lisa VanWinkle

Lorenza, (Lisa) Van Winkle at age 73 of Clinton, MO. passed away quietly and whisked into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday April 29, 2020 with her family and Pastor at her bedside at the St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Lisa was born July 28, 1947 in the Philippines and departed this life April 29, 2020. Rob and Lisa had celebrated 53 years of marriage on March 22, 2020.

Lisa loved the LORD, enjoyed cooking, and planning the Good Hope Baptist Church dinners. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, planting flowers and taking care of them. Her flower beds testify of her love for flowers and the beauty they held. Lisa was willing to put people first by serving them and her family. Lisa will always be remembered for her cooking skills and her service to Jesus in preparing meals for kids on Wednesday evenings. She would not just throw a snack together, but a full meal. She loved hymns and it would not be uncommon for her to raise her hand in praise to her Savior Jesus Christ. She will be remembered for coordinating the Sunday after church fellowship meals we would have and if too much time went by she would make sure that a meal got scheduled. She will always be remembered for loving to watch football and her two favorite teams were the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs. She will be remembered for her service to her church family and it will be impossible to replace her. Lisa knew this life was just a coffee break and she was just passing through as her real home was in heaven with Jesus her Savior.

Survivors include her husband Erving, (Rob) of the home; her sons David Van Winkle of Kansas City and Jayden Van Winkle of the home, her daughters Donna Hembree of Clinton, MO. and Diana Van Winkle of Bella Vista, Ark. Lisa was a loving and caring grandmother to Jonah, Tyler, and Joseph. Lisa was also great-grandmother to Vincent and Velanna.

Lisa was preceded in death by her son Dustin Van Winkle.

Lisa was also a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church of Clinton, MO.

A quiet graveside service will be held for the family where Lisa’s body will be laid to rest at the Good Hope Cemetery, Clinton, MO at 11:30 AM Saturday, May 2nd, 2020.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Good Hope Baptist Church at 806 SE Hwy. 7, Clinton, MO. 64735 or left with Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, MO.
