Amsterdam woman escapes injury in Henry County accident
On 5/2/20 around 5:40am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County along with Henry County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Route C just north of Missouri 7 Highway in rural Henry County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2016 Jeep driven by 29 year old Brandy Perkins of Amsterdam,Missouri was struck in the rear by a 2003 Honda Motorcycle driven by 33 year old Corey M. Testerman of Warsaw, Missouri as she slowed for a vehicle that was parked off the roadway.
Mr. Testerman sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported by EMS to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri for treatment.
Both vehicles sustained damages in this accident.
Shots fired in police pursuit in Miami County Kansas
Early yesterday morning a Miami County Kansas Sheriffs Deputy was shot at during a pursuit. We are thankful no one was injured and the suspect was taken into custody.

D&D Fireworks canceling annual display
We regret to announce with everything that's going on right now we've made the decision to cancel our annual D & D Firework Display scheduled for June 27, 2020.
At this time we are still planning on having the firework stand open starting June 20, 2020.
We will keep you posted on any other changes that might happen between now and the time we are set to open.

Update: Harrisonville man injured in motorcycle accident in Cass County
On 5/1/20 around 10:53am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Peculiar Police Department responded to a motorcycle accident in the northbound lanes of I-49 near miles marker 171.4 north of Peculiar.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2012 Honda motorcycle driven by 29 year old Eric T. Peck of Harrisonville, Missouri had a unknown vehicle travel into his path which caused him to over break and overturn, Peck was ejected from the bike into the median.
Eric T. Peck sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported by South Metro Fire to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.
The bike received moderate damages and it was towed from the scene of the accident by Eckert's Tow.

Obituary - Samuel R. "Sam" Ahnemann
Samuel R. "Sam" Ahnemann, 25, of Seattle, Washington, formerly of Clinton, Missouri passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 25, 2020 at his home.
Arrangements are pending under the direction of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton.
