Obituary - Robert "Bobby" Dean Anderson

Robert “Bobby” Dean Anderson, 61, of Harrisonville, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at his home in Harrisonville. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hope City, 5101 E. 24th St, Kansas City, MO 64127.

Bobby was born August 8, 1958, in Harrisonville, MO, a son of Charles Robert and Lois Evadean (Crisp) Anderson. He was born and raised in Harrisonville, moved to Bay City, Texas from 1977 to 1982 and eventually came back to Missouri. Bobby spent his career working in construction, working for several different companies over his years.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Anderson; and sisters: Darla Neal and Robin Anderson. He is survived by his son, Robert Brian Anderson of Rosenberg, TX; his daughter, Sara Muniz of Bay City, TX; his sister, Jan (Roger) Wainwright of Raymore, MO; and five grandchildren: Ilyssa Jo Muniz, Ryker Chase Muniz, Sophia Bell Anderson, Oliver James Dean Anderson, and Penelope Rose Anderson.

Obituary - Phyllis Nora (Morement) Clyman

Phyllis Nora Clyman 94, passed away on May 4, 2020 in Nevada, Missouri, after a brief illness. She was born at Warminster, England on June 20, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Lily Morement. Phyllis met her future husband, Oscar F. Clyman, while he was serving as a GI in the U.S. Army during World War II in her hometown of Warminster, England. Oscar was discharged from the service on January 6, 1946. He returned to Warminster, England, to marry Phyllis on January 6, 1947. Their first child, a son, was born a year later on January 6, 1948, followed by a daughter.

They honeymooned at Niagara Falls, and then travelled to their farm southeast of Golden City, Missouri, where they engaged in a crop and livestock operation for 45 years. This farm was later designated a Missouri Century Farm. In addition to being a farm wife, Phyllis enjoyed playing piano for the Dudenville United Methodist Church, gardening, sewing, knitting, cooking, taking care of numerous pets, always sending encouraging cards and letters to family and friends, and maintaining a loving home.

Oscar and Phyllis moved to Nevada, Missouri in 1992 and became members of the Nevada First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years who passed away in 2000, son-in-law, John Stockdale, sisters-in-law, Audrey Yates and Lorene Wheat. Also, parents, Charles and Lily Morement, sister, Joyce Denning, and brother-in-law, George Denning all of England.

She is survived by a son, David (Glenda) Clyman of Nevada, Missouri, a daughter, Marilyn Stockdale of Sheldon, Missouri, two grandsons, Jeremy (Jennifer) Clyman of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Jason (Whittney) Stockdale of Oronogo, Missouri, one granddaughter, Julie Morgan of Pella, Iowa, five great-grandchildren, Ella and Colton Clyman, and Paige and Tyler Morgan, Emma Stockdale, as well as many nephews and nieces.

Graveside Services are planned for 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Dudenville Cemetery, south of Golden City, Missouri with the Dr. Kevin Daugherty officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Nevada or the American Diabetes Association.

Clinton Fire Department hires new figherfighter

CFD ANNOUNCES HIRING OF NEW FIREFIGHTER

The Clinton Fire Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Frank Mesh as a full-time firefighter. Frank has served as a volunteer firefighter for the CFD since February of 2019.

Frank is a life-long resident of Clinton, graduating from Clinton High School in 2006. Before starting his career with the CFD, Frank was employed by the Clinton School District as a Computer Networking teacher for the Clinton Technical School. Frank, his wife Rikki, and their son Luca reside in Clinton. Please join us in congratulating Frank as he begins his career with the CFD!

Obituary - Kathleen Mildred (DeLine) Covington

Kathleen Mildred Covington, age 98, Walker, MO passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at her home in Walker. Kathleen was born September 21, 1921 in Topeka, KS to Gordon Garfield and Ethel Leona (Gayer) Deline. She married Jerial D. Covington on May 6, 1949 in Rogers, AR and he preceded her in death in 2010.

Kathleen was raised in Kansas and later in Michigan where she attended school. Following her marriage to Jerial they resided in Nevada for a time before buying a farm in Dederick, MO. In 1953 they moved to Kansas City and then later to Belton in 1956 while maintaining ties to Vernon County. They came back to Vernon

County to reside full time in the early 1980’s. Kathleen was a talented and creative person, known to be an excellent seamstress, and cook, and enjoyed painting. Kathleen loved singing, reading her Bible, playing all kinds of games, she had a competitive nature about her. She was a longtime member of the Belton Assembly of God Church and currently was a member of the Stockton Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Morris, Raymore, MO, and Brenda Copeland (David), Walker, MO; three grandchildren, Stephanie Cantrell (Brennan) of Raymore, Justin Copeland (Mikki) of Pleasant Hill, MO, and Brittany Campbell (Harrison) of Pleasant Hill, MO; great-grandchildren; Ayden Cantrell, Keagan Cantrell, Quintin Campbell, Brodie Campbell, Brecklyn Copeland, and Sawyer Copeland; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Jerial, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny; an infant daughter, Marsha; a sister, Roberta Light; and two brothers, Bernard DeLine and Jack DeLine.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Walker, MO with Pastor Dennis Deline officiating.

Memorials are suggested in her memory to Mt. Vernon Cemetery c/o Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO.

Obituary -Jason Walker "Jake" McCullough

Jason Walker "Jake" McCullough, age 44, was born June 25, 1975 in Nevada, Missouri the son of Jimmy and Martha Miller McCullough. He departed this life May 3, 2020 at his home in Amoret, Missouri.
Jason loved his family, he had an awesome sense of humor and was always trying to "get us". He was especially fond of his ornery nephews and was known to spoil great nephew Austin and great niece April, who was known to crawl up on his lap for a quick snuggle and maybe a chance to yank the cat's tail. How he loved those kids! He was an avid Chiefs fan and was so excited when they won the Super Bowl. He loved his books, movies, current events, playing video games with nephew Connor and watching wrestling with his brother.

He collected Chiefs and wrestling memorabilia , he was computer savvy, keeping the family online. He was preceded in death by his father and step mother, Jimmy and Shirley McCullough, grandparents, Roy and Delores Miller, Jasper and Gloria Jackson and Herb McCullough. Jake is survived by his mother and step dad, Martha and Tom Long, brother, Justin(Tressie), step siblings, Becky Crossan(jay, Tom Long Jr., Heather Smith(Greg), and Dan Long, nephews, Aaron Hooker(Shelby), Eric Hooker(Megan), Sebastian Brabant(Sydney) and Connor Schultz, great nephew Austin, great niece, April, AKA, Ape to Uncle Jake, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Iva Ruth Campbell, age 87 of Rich Hill, Missouri died Monday, May 4, 2020 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada, Missouri. She was born March 22, 1933 to Earl Rollo and Celia Harriet Bryant Cumpton in Aaron, Missouri.

Ruth is survived by her son, Jim Campbell and wife Kitty of Butler, Missouri; four daughters, Elaine Engelhardt and husband Steve of Butler, Missouri, Linda Jagels and husband Ricky of Rockville, Missouri and Tina Buckner and husband Bruce and Eugenia Brocka and husband Greg, all of Rich Hill, Missouri; one sister, Bonnie Wilson of Vian, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two infant sons; and siblings.
