You will start to see and hear new equipment on Miami County Sheriff's Office vehicles

(Miami County Kansas) You will start to see and hear new equipment on Miami County Sheriff's Office vehicles.

5 new 2020 Dodge Durango's will replace older Ford Explorers and will be equipped with the Howler which is a low frequency addition to the emergency siren that provides deep tones to penetrate sound into other vehicles alerting drivers and pedestrians of the emergency vehicles approach. These tones can be felt and are useful for the hearing impaired and are commonly used in high traffic areas and intersections.

The additional equipment will help make emergency responses safer for the Deputy and citizens.

Moving forward, Dee says she plans to spend more time with her children and grandchildren, work in her garden and travel with her husband Darold.

“Most every organization or company has a 'go-to' person. That key employee who is knowledgeable, approachable and a resource for colleagues and customers alike.

In her 37 years with the City of Harrisonville, Dee Shelton has been that 'go-to' person, never out of obligation, but always out of a desire to serve. Thank you, Dee. You will surely be missed.” - Judy Bowman, Mayor of Harrisonville
