Three People Arrested in Raymore and Harrisonville Pursuits

Cass Co – Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were involved in two pursuits in the past 24 hours resulting in three arrests.

Around 5:12 pm on Thursday, deputies attempted to stop a silver Honda Civic in the area of N. Foxridge Drive and Granada Drive in Raymore. The vehicle did not stop and continued north on Foxridge Drive. A second deputy in the area responded as the pursuit traveled east on 155th Street. The second deputy was able to successfully deploy a Grappler device and stopped the vehicle near E. 155th and S. Vogt Road.

Two occupants of the vehicle detained for questioning at the scene were released. The driver, James S. York, 44, Belton, was arrested for resisting arrest and driving while revoked. Deputies also located suspected narcotics inside the vehicle. York was transported to the Cass County Jail.

“The quick and safe apprehension of this driver is the direct result of good training and equipping our deputies with the tools to do their job. The incident ended in less than 5 minutes and resulted in the arrest of another career criminal,” said Sheriff Jeff Weber.

Around 3:15 am on Friday, deputies were notified of a vehicle that fled from Pleasant Hill Officers south on 7 Highway. A Cass County Deputy located the vehicle traveling west on P Highway near Raffurty Road and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver did not stop and continued driving at a high rate of speed towards 291 Highway. The pursuit traveled south towards Harrisonville where a deputy and officers from the Harrisonville Police Department deployed tire deflation devices to disable the vehicle.

A Harrisonville Police Officer was able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device as the vehicle traveled south on 291 Highway near Royal Street. The driver failed to negotiate the turn onto northbound I-49 and the vehicle became disabled on the concrete island at the entrance ramp.

Deputies located suspected narcotics inside the vehicle and recovered a bag thrown from the vehicle during the incident. A female passenger was questioned and released at the scene.

The driver, Dimitri L. Nimrod, 31, Kansas City, was arrested for resisting arrest and driving while revoked, along with warrants for Larceny in Raytown and Obstruction charges in Independence.

A passenger, James M. Saunders, 44, Kansas City, was arrested for active warrants in Blue Springs and Kansas City.

Both subjects were transported to the Cass County Jail. Dimitri Nimrod is currently in custody awaiting charges.
