Parents and students of the Miami R-1 School District

Please know that the Miami R-1 Administration and staff are currently developing a school-wide Covid-19 related reentry plan/protocol.

Much consideration is being made as we determine the most appropriate path to reentry this fall. It is important for the district to share that we are working collaboratively with the Bates County Health Department and other entities to best meet the safety needs of both students and staff.

The district is purchasing necessary cleaning/sanitizing equipment along with implementing certain specific procedural practices. The district’s intent is to provide the greatest level of normalcy within a framework of safety.

We will share our reentry plan prior to the start of school. However, due to the fluidity of the pandemic, we intend for the document to be flexible to better meet the needs of our students, staff, and community.

Thank you for supporting your Miami Eagles!

Bates County USDA news release

Attention Bates County producers who owned cattle, hogs, sheep, milk, corn, and soybeans on or after January 15, 2020.

Agricultural producers can now apply for USDA’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP), which provides direct payments to offset impacts from the coronavirus pandemic.

FSA is available over the phone and virtually to walk you through the application process, whether it’s the first time you’ve worked with FSA, or if you know us quite well. The Bates County USDA office can be reached at 660-679-6112.

Applying for Assistance

Producers of all eligible commodities will apply through their local FSA office. Those who use the online calculator tool will be able to print off a pre-filled CFAP application, sign, and submit to your local FSA office either electronically or via hand delivery. Please contact your local office to determine the preferred method. Find contact information for your local office at farmers.gov/cfap.

Documentation to support the producer’s application and certification may be requested after the application is filed.

More Information To find the latest information on CFAP, visit farmers.gov/cfap or call 877-508-8364.

USDA Service Centers are open for business by phone appointment only, and field work will continue with appropriate social distancing. While program delivery staff will continue to come into the office, they will be working with producers by phone and using online tools whenever possible. All Service Center visitors wishing to conduct business with the FSA, Natural Resources Conservation Service, or any other Service Center agency are required to call their Service Center to schedule a phone appointment. More information can be found at farmers.gov/coronavirus.

Vernon County Health Department COVID-19 update

(Nevada,Mo) There has been a lot of discussion on social media this weekend regarding a COVID-19 related death in our county.

After investigating this issue it was found that there was a case that had some details entered inaccurately to the state system. There is NO death related to COVID-19 in Vernon County.

That is information we would release if it were to happen. We are fortunate that all our cases are recovered, asymptomatic, or have mild illness.

Save The Date!

Hope you can join us for a Burger or hot dog lunch and visit.
