Joseph “Joe” Leon Rodier, Sr., 95, Freeman, MO, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, at Freeman Cemetery in Freeman, MO.

Traffic Alert: Henry Co. Rt. O CLOSED Northwest of Clinton, Aug. 6 for Pipe Work

Where: Henry County Route O northwest of Clinton between NW 500 Road and NW 771 Road


When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, August 6th

What: Route O CLOSED to allow MoDOT crews to replace deteriorating drain pipe underneath the road

Traffic Impacts:
• Both Route B lanes CLOSED where crews are working
• Drivers will have access to entrances at either end of the work zone, but will not be able to travel through the work zone
• No signed detour
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the work zone
• Drivers should find alternate route
Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

Obituary - Donna Gunnels

Donna Gunnels, 72 of Drexel, Missouri passed away peacefully Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Cremation, with memorial services to be held 4:00 pm Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (660-679-0009). 

A visitation will be held Saturday from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm prior to the services at the chapel. 

Inurnment will follow in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri. Friends are welcome to attend; masks are respectfully requested and social distancing should be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Drexel Fire Department. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Donna Rae Gunnels was born January 9, 1948 in Cass County, Missouri to Rex and Ruth Majors Neal. She worked for over 30 years for physician medical groups with Research Medical Center. Her longest tenure was with KCIM followed by the Cardiology & Infectious Disease departments. Prior to relocating to Kansas City, Donna could also be found serving the great customers at Granny’s Cafe. Donna will forever be remembered for her incredible work ethic, love for her family, and love of sports. She was a loyal Mizzou fan through the good and the bad.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Richard Neal. She is survived by her children, Steve Gunnels, Kim Martin (Jay), Joe Gunnels (Crystal), Jill Collins (Scott), and Jane Williams (Jack). 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, her brother Ron Neal (Sharon), sister Diana Mayfield (Terry). She also leaves behind her “bonus” children, Roderick Harris, Brian Harris, Brandon Harris, and Brandy Harris.

New Sex Offender Registered In Rich Hill

Ronnie Lee Reeder (DOB 1/5/1978) registered as a sex offender today in Bates County. Reeder was convicted of 3 counts of Statutory Rape in the 1st Degree and 1 count of Child Molestation in the 1st Degree. 

He was convicted in St. Louis, MO in 2004. Reeder is residing at 101 W Maple in Rich Hill, MO. He is classified as a Tier 3 Sex Offender in Bates County. - Courtesy of the Bates County Sheriff's Office
