Murder Suspect from Louisiana arrested in Cass County

Cass Co – Around 10:30 pm Wednesday a deputy with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Unit stopped a vehicle on Interstate 49 near 58 Highway in Belton for a traffic violation.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Stanley R. Goldsby Jr, 33, Shreveport, Louisiana. A computer check of Goldsby revealed an active warrant from Louisiana issued September 28, 2020 for murder and attempted murder. Cass County Deputies took Goldsby into custody without incident.

Stanley Goldsby is accused of the shooting deaths of LaDarrien Taylor and Denzel Taylor in Shreveport, La. Authorities there say Goldsby went to the home where the Taylors were, got into an argument and fired shots. The two men died from their injuries at the hospital.

Goldsby is currently being held in the Cass County Jail on the Louisiana warrant for Murder 2nd Degree and Attempted 2nd Degree Murder with a $350,000 Cash Bond.

COVID-19 Update from Adrian Manor

This is Sheila Wackerman from Adrian Manor with a COVID update. Unfortunately I have to report that one of my staff members had a positive COVID test result, so therefore all visits are cancelled at this time.

We can restart the visits after everyone has gone through two rounds of testing, with everyone coming back negative. We will be testing all residents and all staff today.

Good news is no one is showing any signs or symptoms and everyone was in good spirits yesterday after the fishing on Tuesday. Since the residents will be confined to their rooms as much as possible, all meals will be delivered to them as room trays.

We will be updating you at least on a weekly basis and more often if something comes up. We will try and make this time as easy as possible for the residents by increasing activities one on ones in their rooms. We will also be available to do video visits, just call and let us know. Also you can still stop by and see your loved ones through the windows.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give me a call. Thank you again for your patience and co-operation. We are truly trying to do our best to keep your loved ones safe.

Practice makes perfect: Rains Craft 25 for 25

Rains Craft, son of Dale and Pam Craft, is a member of the Butler FFA Trap Shooting team. Yesterday, he shot a perfect 25 out of 25 clay pigeons during his week 3 Area 7 FFA Association trap shoot. Rains has competed for several years in 4-H and now in his second year of FFA, and finally accomplished his goal of shooting a perfect round.

Craft was joined by members of his team and a few other competitors to shoot his hat as a tradition for shooting a perfect round.
