Henry County Health Center confirms 7 new positive cases of COVID-19

Henry County Health Center has received notification of seven new cases of COVID-19. Five are from the town of Clinton, one is from Windsor, and one from Calhoun. This brings the total number of positive cases in Henry County to 1148.

The CDC continues to recommend that individuals to wear a face covering when you are in public, and are unable to social distance, to assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Obituary - Kenneth Leroy Brewer

Kenneth Leroy Brewer age 62 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at his home in Clinton, Missouri.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, November 28th, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.


Memorials in Kenneth's name can be made to the Jet, Oklahoma Volunteer Fire Department and may be lefty in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home. Clinton, Missouri

 Due to the increased positivity rate of COVID-19 in Bates County, there will be no worship services at Living Word in Butler until further notice.

Hume man arrested in Bates County

On 11/21/20 around 11:11am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 38 year old Michael W. Grady of Hume, Missouri.

Mr. Grady was arrested for 1.) Three Felony Vernon County Sheriff's Office Warrants 2.) Felony Possession of a controlled substance- Methamphetamine 3.) Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he is currently being held on no bond.

Obituary - Susan Diane Jones

Visitation for Susan will be between 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri.

A graveside service will follow the visitation at 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Shiloh Cemetery in rural Liberal, Missouri. The minister will be Pastor David Hill.

The family suggest any memorial donations be made to Project Christmas Cheer at the First Baptist Church, Clinton, MO. These may be sent to the church (1531 N. Vansant Road, Clinton, MO 64735) or left at Hill & Son Funeral Home.

Susan Diane Jones, 68 was born in Pittsburgh, Kansas on October 4, 1952. She was the daughter of Lawrence C. and Evelyn Elizabeth (Carpenter) Jones. Susan departed this life November 20, 2020 at Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton, Missouri.

Susan spent her formative years in the Appleton City, Missouri area, where she graduated from high school in 1971.

Throughout her life she was dedicated member at the First Baptist Church in Appleton City and then also at the First Baptist Church of Clinton, where she always enjoyed participating in children’s Christmas ministry. One of her favorite hobbies was camping with her parents in Branson and going to the many shows. Susan loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, especially on their annual camping trip to Pomme de Terre Lake. She was someone who loved her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed.

Preceding Susan in death were her parents, Lawrence C. and Evelyn Elizabeth (Carpenter) Jones; and one great-nephew, Conner Tenholder.


Survivors include Linda (Paul) Tenholder; nieces and nephews: Greg (Shirley) Tenholder, Connie (Jody) Rapp, Matt (Amanda) Tenholder, and Lori Burch; along with many extended family members and dear friends
