Obituary - Jerry Lee Schindler

Jerry Lee Schindler, 86, Liberty, Missouri departed this life on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Schindler of the home; two sons, Douglas Schindler (Vanessa), Kearney, Missouri, Dwight Schindler (Beverly Danner), Kansas City, Missouri; 5 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronnie Schindler, Garden City, Missouri; a sister, Joyce Roach, Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Butler man arrested on several warrants

On 11/24/20 around 5:00pm the Butler Police Department arrested 35 year old Jeff M. Bradley of Butler, Missouri.

Mr. Bradley was arrested on three warrants:
  • Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia 
  • Stealing
  • Possession of a controlled substance
Jeff M. Bradley was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he is currently listed as bondable with a $4500 cash/surety bail on each count.

News from Butler Athletic Director Jake Duvall

With fall activities wrapped up at Butler High School, we are now onto winter activities. Please be aware that with all of winter activities being indoors, we will see many restrictions over the next few months. 

Be sure that your contact information is updated with the school to ensure you are receiving critical information on dates, times, and Covid-19 restrictions for home and away activities. Please check social media daily for these updates as well. 

If you have any questions regarding restrictions for out of town games/activities, please contact the school first before you make the trip.

Henry County Health Center confirms 20 new positive cases of COVID-19

The Henry County Health Center (HCHC) has received confirmation of 20 more positive cases of COVID-19. Clinton-17, Montrose-1, Deepwater-1 and Windsor-1. This brings the total number of confirmed positive cases in Henry County to 1192 .

All contact tracing has commenced and all parties that have had close contact are being notified. HCHC continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing, washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or more, and to remain home if you are sick. 

The CDC continues to recommend that individuals to wear a face covering when you are in public, and are unable to social distance, to assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19.


Clinton City Council approved a mask mandate effective immediately


Henry County- Clinton City Council members met Monday afternoon and all but one member voted for the mandate.

“Except as otherwise provided in this ordinance all persons age ten years old and above who are present within the jurisdiction of the City of Clinton are required to wear a clean Face Mask any time they are, or will be, in contact with other people who are not household members and when outside of private residences,” the ordinance stated.

Obituary - Danny M. Pennock

Danny M. Pennock, age 76 of Clinton, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 21st, 2020 at his home. Graveside Services will be held, Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun, Missouri. Memorial contributions in Danny's name may be made to the Calhoun Cemetery and may be left in the care of the funeral home.

Danny Morris Pennock was born May 30, 1944 to Joe C. Pennock and Fanny Mae (Crowley) Pennock at Boonville, Missouri. He attended school in Boonville, grades 1 thru 4th before moving to Clinton where he graduated from Clinton High School in 1962. Danny worked at the Imperial Gas Station in Clinton while in school and after graduation was employed at Unitog Manufacturing in Clinton as a Sewing Machine Mechanic. After the Clinton Plant closed he was transferred to the Warrensburg plant for a total of 35 years of serviced. He also did some farming, before his tractor accident, which left him disabled. He also worked at Warrensburg Medical Center as an Engineer.

Danny and Nadine Fields were united in marriage in 1972. Danny enjoyed farming, fishing, square dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Louis and Bill Pennock and a niece Judy Pennock. Danny is survived by his wife of 48 years, 3 children, Mike of Calhoun, Missouri, David and wife Teresa of Windsor, Missouri, Misty Houk of Warrensburg, Missouri, and stepson Brian Shephard and wife Lynda of Calhoun, Missouri. 4 grandchildren, Valerie Hunt, Jake Pennock and wife Ciara, Kate Houk, and Cody Carney. 5 great grandchildren, Landon Huffman, Owen, Harper and Max Pennock, and Haisley Houk. A nephew Daryl and wife Janie Pennock.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri
