Obituary - Wanna Lou Orth
Wanna Lou Orth, age 76, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Kansas City, Missouri.
A celebration of her life will be held with a visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083.
Wanna was born in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, on October 18, 1944 to Ovan Kerr and Grace (Pough) Kerr. Not long after graduating high school, Wanna was joined in marriage with her husband Keith Orth on July 16, 1967. Together they were blessed with three daughters. In life Wanna was an incredible wife, mother, and friend. She would be the shining star that lit up any room she walked into. Wanna lived to provide for her family, weather it was cooking or just caring for them. She was also a member of the woman’s Bata Sigma Phi.
Wanna was preceded in death by her parents, Ovan and Grace Kerr; three brothers, Jerry, Bobby, and Duane Kerr; and two sisters, Ovena Green and JoAnn Talley.
She leaves behind her loving husband of over fifty-three years, Keith Orth; three daughters, Stacy Ladd, Tracy Orth, and Melinda Roberts (Nick); brother Jim Bowman; sister Linda Poe (Jack); seven grandchildren, TJ, Jesse, Tana (CJ), Keith, Matthew, Kallie, and Dean; and four great grandchildren, Bryce, Blake, Titan, and Skylee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Shepherd’s Staff Food Pantry, 1311 Sanders St., Harrisonville, Missouri 64701

Drexel woman escapes injury after striking deer in the roadway in rural Cass County
On 12/11/20 around 7:25am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Route D just north of Lone Pine Drive in rural Cass County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2016 Lincoln MKZ driven by 41 year old Madelyn R. Keller of Drexel, Missouri struck a deer that was in the roadway.
Madelyn R. Keller sustained minor injuries in this accident but she refused medical treatment at the scene of the crash.
The vehicle received extensive damages and it was towed from the scene of this accident by J's Southland Tow.
Ft. Scott Kansas man killed in Linn County Crash
On 12/12/20 around 5:28am the Kansas State Highway Patrol along with Linn County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Front Street just north of Green Street in the town of Prescott, Kansas.The Kansas State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by 25 year old Brett Michael Johnson of Ft. Scott, Kansas traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.
Mr. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene of this accident by Linn County Sheriff's Deputies, His body was transported from the scene by Frontier Forensic of Kansas City, Kansas.
A passenger in the vehicle 21 year old Manon E. Turpen of Pleasanton, Kansas sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of this accident by RB Towing.
COVID-19 Update from the Archie R-5 School District
An individual in the District has tested positive for COVID-19. As soon as the individual and the District were aware of the situation, the individual self-isolated and has not returned to school. All individuals who were in close contact with that person within the District have been notified to self-isolate as a result of the exposure.
Though we know you will have many questions and concerns, in order to protect the privacy of the individual involved, the District is incredibly limited as to the information it can share with you; however, if you’d like to ask specific questions regarding any next steps you may need to take, please contact the Cass County Health Department.
