Update: Shooting Investigation in Miami County Kansas

On 2/3/21 the Miami County Kansas Sheriff's Office took a 2nd suspect into custody in regards to a shooting investigation on 1/21/21 in rural Miami County Kansas. 

Both suspects names are being withheld at this time and will be released later.

Turbulent Thursday

Well, at 2AM this morning the entire forecast area was in the 40s but, things have begun to change as the cold front has made it's way into NW Missouri. 

This front will continue to drop southeastward across the area today with temperatures falling through the day. Out ahead of the front expect rain showers. 

However, behind that front expect rain changing over to snow and winds to become gusty to 30 to 40 mph out of the northwest. Areas north of the river may see a dusting up to around an inch near the Missouri/Iowa border.


Obituary - Willard Scott Henry

Willard Scott Henry, Age 50, of East Prairie, died Monday, February 1, 2021, at Memphis, TN.

Born August 17, 1970, at Charleston, MO, to Willard Stanley Miller who survives of Bertrand, MO, and the late Eunice Renalda Henry, Scott had lived in East Prairie most of his life. Scott had worked as a diesel mechanic and later as a property manager. Scott loved woodworking.

He was married to Brandi Lafferty who survives.

Surviving in addition to his dad are his children, Bryan Scott (Marissa) Henry; Skyler Alexander Douglas; Aaron Shane (Lacey) Henry and Dalton Eugene (Jade) Henry; his brothers and sisters, Tony Henry; Matt (Samantha) Miller; Vickie (Glen) Hall; Debbie (Ron) Nichols; Lisa (Jeff) Shelby and Amber Nicole Brown; Also, ten grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Hannah Ester Nicole Henry; his nephew, Blake Hall; his step father, Carl Tanksley and his grandmother, Esther Henry.

Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.

Interment will be at East Prairie Memorial Park under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.


One arrested on Probation Violation in Bates County

On 2/2/21 around 9:31pm the Adrian Police Department arrested 30 year old Trevor W. Pajula formerly of Butler, Missouri.

Mr. Pajula was arrested on 1.) Felony Probation and Parole Violation Warrant.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he is currently being held on a $7,500 cash only bond.

Obituary - Matthew T. Biro

Matthew T. Biro, age 21, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away suddenly on January 31, 2021.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, Missouri 64012. Burial will follow mass at Belton Cemetery in Belton, Missouri.

Matthew was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 9, 1999 to Adam and Julie (Niemeier) Biro. Matthew graduated from high school in 2017 and began working. In life he loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting with his bow. Matthew also loved spending time with his family.

Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Verl Niemeier. He leaves behind his parents, Adam and Julie Biro; five siblings, Alexis, Sean, Daniel, Faith, and Isabella Biro; maternal grandmother, Stella Niemeier; and paternal grandparents, Steven Biro (Victoria) and Angela Hiper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Missouri Department of Conservation as wildlife and nature brought so much joy to Matthew.
