Obituary - Phyllis J. Green

Phyllis J. Green, age 77, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Austin Cemetery in Archie, Missouri.

Phyllis was born in Oregon City, Oregon to Therlow Ray Leach and Rhoda Alice (Reed) Leach on May 17, 1943. After graduating high school, Phyllis worked at Union Safe Deposit Bank in Stockton, CA. After moving to Reno, NV she worked for Washoe County Building Dept where she retired. After retirement she moved to Grandview, MO to live by her 2 children and grandchildren. She worked for the last 20 years for the family business until her final retirement in March 2020.

In life Phyllis was a faithful member of the Jesus Christ Church of Latter-Day Saints. The most important things in her life were her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her life mission was to be in the service of her family and fellowman. She loved serving her friends in the community where she lived, fulfilling her church callings, feeding the missionaries, and spreading sunshine. Her smile was a gift to all she met and her spirit could lift any room. Phyllis enjoyed crafts and made sure her family had homemade gifts for Christmas every year. Her real joy in life was every moment she shared with family and especially her “grandbabies”. Anyone who knew her would recognize this sentence, “you make sure and kiss those grandbabies”.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Edward Green; parents, Therlow and Rhoda Leach; sisters, Alta Bateman and Ruth Bird; and brothers, Jerry Leach and Clifford Leach.

She is survived by her son, Jason Crowl (JoDee); daughter, Kimberly Thelin (Steve); sister, Anne Martin; ten grandchildren; and twenty-five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the VFW Post 8220, 144 Vivian Street, Belton, Missouri 64012.
