Catfishing Tournament at LaCygne Lake

Time:
Saturday March 20th
8 am to 5 pm

Entry fee: $125
$100 to pot and $25 to big fish

Payout depends on places, places depends on entries.
5 fish limit channel, blues, or flathead. 5 heaviest fish.

Registration: Starts @ 7am one team member must be there to register and at weight in everyone must have rods out of water at 5 pm and at weight in

Remember the more teams the higher the payouts.

Working on getting more sponsors to sweeten the pots. With prizes and more $ for higher payouts. Rod and Reel only.

1. All state and local regulators must be followed.

2. Time will be from 8am to 5pm Registration starts at 7am with captains meeting and rules to follow.

3. Consist of 2-3 man teams or (may fish solo), but no more than 6 rods in water at one time.

4. Rod and Reel only. Boat only. No leaving of the lake. Once you setup. Unless you contact me to let me know you are leaving

5. All live wells will be checked before anyone gets on water.

6. All fish must be alive at weight in. No more than 5 fish in boat at weight in.

7. We all are out here to have fun and win money of course. So respect the fellow fisherman and don't crowd them. Atleast 50 yards

8. Absolutely no prefishing lake 12hrs prior to tournament. I will be watching. If caught cheating of any means will result in disqualification and forfeit of your entry fee. Just trying to keep it fair and fun for everyone.

9. Yes bait fishing is aloud before Tournament just no catfishing.

10. No chumming or fishing baited holes. No snagging or illegal fishing any means or will be disqualified.

Obituary - Reba F. Finkler

Reba F. Finkler, age 85, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. 64083 **Service times will be provided as more information becomes available.**

Reba was born in Rich Hill, Missouri on May 23, 1935 to Harold Edward Hobson and Gladys Vesta (Blake) Hobson. After school Reba spent her life caring for others as a nurse. Coming from a large family, her loved ones were all near and dear to her heart. Growing up Reba always looked forward to spending time on her family farm in Eldorado canning fruits and vegetables to bring home. Reba was a true friend and always ready to help anyone in need.

Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Gladys Hobson; husband, Michael G. Kerr; husband, Michael Finkler; and ten siblings.

She is survived by son, Richard Kerr of Grandview, Missouri; daughter, Lori Kerr Vantrees, husband Tom of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one granddaughter, Jamie Vantrees DeMoss, husband Brian; two great granddaughters, Makenna Grace DeMoss and Paisley Elizabeth DeMoss all of Peculiar, Missouri; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Obituary - Fern Elizabeth (Young) Reynolds

Fern Elizabeth (Young) Reynolds, 97, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, formerly of Odessa, Missouri, was born, January 13, 1924, in Napoleon, Missouri, the daughter of Henry G. and Ida May (Krutzmann) Young. She departed this life, Thursday, March 4, 2021, at her home surrounded with love and family.

Fern attended the Farmers High School in Odessa leaving school early to support the war effort.

On December 12, 1940, she was united in marriage to John R. Reynolds in Richmond, Missouri.

When WWII started there was a need for female employees to support the war effort. Fern went to work for North American in 1943. She worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” and was involved in the manufacturing of the B24 Liberator. She went to work for Bendix in 1952 and retired after 35 years of service in 1987. She was a member of the Lake Lotawana V.F.W.Post #6272 Auxiliary and the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Blue Springs. She enjoyed being outside working in the garden or watching the wildlife on her property, and playing cards. She most loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She never met a stranger and was selfless in her service to others.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Lillian Young; four brothers, Dempsey Young, Jeff Young, Harrison Young, and Everett Young; and one son, James R. Reynolds.

She is survived by her husband, John Riley Reynolds of the home; one son, Gary (and Vicki) Reynolds of Napoleon; one daughter, Linda (and Dennis) Secrist of Pleasant Hill; seven grandchildren, Ami Lewis (and Jamey) of Bates City, Scott Reynolds of Liberty, Courtney Reynolds of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Stephen (and Tracy) Secrist of Pleasant Hill, Brian (and Natalie) Secrist of Lee’s Summit, Justin (and Stephanie) Secrist of Prairie Village, Kansas, and Amber Secrist of Pleasant Hill; great grandchildren, Jackson, Makenzie, Rhylie, Collin, Dalton, Keegan, Grady, Elizabeth, Addison, Kaeden, Bridgette, Ridgley, and Nixon; one sister, Berniece Stutzman of Miami, Oklahoma; other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Fern’s life will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home. Reverend Chris Middleton of the Evangelical Free Church, Wellington will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Lay Clergy Love Fund or the City Union Mission and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
