The Hume PTO members did a fantastic job of putting on the Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 27. If you see a PTO member tell them what an awesome job they are doing! Everyone really appreciated the morning.

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Brenton Laver. Several attended the beautiful wedding held on Saturday evening, March 27 for Emmah Fillpot and Brenton Laver. The wedding took place at the Whiskey Mansion Ranch in Butler.

The Hume Fair Board is looking for Royalty for the upcoming 2021 Hume Fair and Rodeo to be held on August 3rd through August 7th. Rodeo queen candidates need to be ages 13 to 18 years of age by fair time. Prince and Princess Candidates need to be 5 to 12 years of age by fair time. If interested check out the face book page or contact any fairboard member.

The Hume Alliance Ministry is planning a spaghetti feed on Sunday, May 2nd at the Hume Legion Hall. Proceeds will go to the Hume Food Pantry. Be sure and mark this date on your calendar.

Congratulations to the Drexel Dairy Foods CDE team who placed 4th overall today at the Central District Contest! These hardworking students will compete at the Missouri State CDE Contest next Saturday at Mizzou!!

Obituary - Michael Aaron Wolf

Michael Aaron Wolf, age 40, of Raymore, Missouri, passed suddenly in his home on Sunday, March 28, 2021.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held with a visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. At memorial will be held at 1:45 p.m. following visitation.

Michael was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 2, 1980 to David Wolf and Kathy (Payne) Wolf. After graduating high school, Michael began working in the food service industry and through that developed his love of cooking. In life Michael enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals. He loved being outside, hunting, fishing, and had a deep respect for animals which started in his youth when he worked at Wayside Waifs.

Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Chester and Lorene Wolf; and maternal grandparents, Bill and Dora Payne.

He leaves behind his loving wife, of over twelve years, Jenna (Morgan) Wolf; sons, Paiton Wolf and Caleb Wieseler; parents, David and Kathy Wolf; sister, Tanya Mcmahon; and niece and nephew, Megan and Nathan Allen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Rd., Kansas City, Missouri 64137.

Obituary - Bobby Gene “Bob” Hankins

Bobby Gene Hankins, age 73, passed away Monday, March 29th, 2021 at his home in Windsor, Missouri. Bobby's wishes were to be cremated. There are no services scheduled at this time. Fond memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.

Bobby Gene “Bob” Hankins was born May 17th, 1947 in Macks Creek, Missouri to Clarence and Minnie (Creach) Hankins. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and mushroom hunting. He was a member of I.O.O.F odd fellows of Windsor and was the owner of Bob Hankins Heating & AC for over 50 years.

He preceded in death by his parents, his brother and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife Mary Hankins, of the home, 5 children; Betty Clemens of Windsor, Missouri, Debbie (Fred) Reynolds of Odessa, Missouri, Allen (Emma) Jones of Leeton, Missouri, David Jones of Clinton, Missouri, Bobbi Hankins of Windsor, Missouri, one brother; Jim (Patty) Hankins of Sedalia, Missouri, one sister; Wanda (Jerry) Baker of Sedalia, Missouri, 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Obituary - Timothy Seth Dowty

Timothy “Seth” Dowty, 32, Sheldon, MO passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 in Sheldon. Seth was born July 18, 1988 in Nevada, MO to Timothy S. and Dawn M. (Mussmann) Dowty.

Seth was raised in Nevada where he also attended school. He has worked at Murphy Farms for the past five years. Seth loved fishing, animals, and being outdoors. He enjoyed working on small engines and was a tattoo artist. 

Seth was well known for his sense of humor, and among his family was known as having a “green thumb”. Most of all, he especially loved spending time with his children and family. He has resided in Sheldon for the past four years.

Survivors include his daughter, Sophie Grace Dowty; his fiancé Telsa Jo Kantor; three step-children, Kelsee, Carson, and Clayton; his mother, Dawn Dowty, Joplin; and his father, Tim Dowty, Nevada; one brother, Cory Dowty, Joplin; and one nephew, Kingsten Dowty.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
