Obituary - Lowell D. Kindall

Lowell D. Kindall, 88, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at Wilshire Lakewood Care Center in Lee's Summit, MO. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, MO. A complete obituary will be posted when it becomes available.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office would like you to join us in shining a light on our 3rd of four people being promoted in the Jail!

Corporal Jeremy Sargent was promoted to Sergeant Jail Officer, and was pinned by Master Sergeant Aaron Anderson!

Sergeant Jeremy just recently completed Leadership training hosted by MOJO with the Missouri Sheriff's Association alongside Master Sergeant Aaron, and is an extremely quick witted individual. 

Jeremy is very technologically inclined and is a valuable member of our team.

Obituary - Dennis Michael "Mike" Hamblin

Dennis Michael "Mike" Hamblin, age 73, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 10th 2021 at his home in Belton, Missouri. A memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 15th, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Vansant-Mills Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service. 

Cremation to follow with burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The National League of POW/MIA Families and be left in care of the funeral home. Fond Memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.

Mike was born April 9, 1948 in Clinton, Missouri, the son of Dennis and Faye (Hammons) Hamblin and where he graduated from Clinton High School in 1966. Following high school Mike attended the U.S. Trade School of Kansas City, Missouri where he earned a diploma in the course of study prescribed for Automobile Body and Fender Repair on April 21, 1967. The following year he enlisted into the United States Army where he served from March 1968 to February 1970 in the Vietnam War. While serving in the Army he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. Upon returning he married Patricia Noble of Appleton City and started work at Kansas City Power and Light in Montrose, Missouri. He eventually moved including Springfield MO, Paducah, KY and finally Belton, MO where he retired from Johnson County, KS water district.

He is preceded in death by his parents and many wonderful aunts and uncles.

Mike is survived by his sister Cindy Mullen of Lee's Summit, MO, his children, Michael Johnson (Johanne) of Windsor, MO, Jennifer Hamblin Shaw (Terry) of Warrensburg, MO, Jason Hamblin of Raymore, MO and Jodie Hamblin Eberting (Chad) of Raymore, MO. He had four grandchildren, Trenton Johnson and Carmyn Johnson Lilley (Bruce) of Windsor, MO, and Kasen and Kiefer Eberting of Raymore, MO. He had one great grandchild Joshua Lilley of Windsor, MO. Mike also is survived by is long time partner, Sharon Ross and her extended family of Charles Edward Ross of Excelsior Springs, MO, and children Alison Ross, and Rochelle (Ross) Swisher of Iowa and children Kyle Destin Ross and Graci Suzanne Ross as well as Cearra Renee Swisher of Peculiar, MO.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.

Updated Obituary - Douglas M. Tripp

Douglas Matthew Tripp, 59, Peculiar, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Doug was born March 7, 1962 in Springdale, AR, a son of Howard and Susan (Bair) Tripp. He was a 1980 graduate of Olathe High School in Olathe, KS. He had lived in Olathe and Raymore, MO before moving to Peculiar. Doug married Jody Hill November 21, 2015 in Belton, MO.

Doug was an exceptional carpenter and builder by trade and took great pride in his work. Most recently he owned and operated Doug Tripp Construction. He was a gentle, kind, humble man and a strong leader. He loved to make anyone laugh and was a great storyteller.

Doug’s greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. Doug loved to cook for friends and family and was a master extraordinaire on the BBQ grill and the smoker. He was a man of the lord above all and was a member of Journey Church International in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Doug is survived by his wife, Jody, of the home; one son, Aaron Tripp, Grandview, MO; two daughters, Taylor Reyes (Chris), North Kansas City, MO and Abigail Tripp, Overland Park, KS; three brothers, Howard Tripp, Jr., Plymouth, MN, Scott Tripp, Crowley, TX, and Phil Tripp, Maple Grove, MN; and three grandchildren, Sephina Tripp, Novalee Tripp and Maverick Reyes.


Kansas man arrested in Bates County

On April 11th around 10:53am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 30 year old Charles L. Miller of Baxter Springs, Kansas.

Mr. Miller was arrested for 1.) Felony Jasper County Sheriffs Office Warrant - Original Charge- Flight to avoid 2.) Failure to drive in the right half of the lane 3.) No valid drivers license.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail and is currently listed as bondable.
