Obituary - Jerry Lee Lynn

Gravesides services for Jerry Lynn of Butler, Missouri will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Wills Cemetery in Peculiar, Missouri. There is no visitation.

Jerry Lee Lynn, age 61 of Butler, Missouri died Sunday, June 20, 2021 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born April 6, 1960 to Earnest Robert and Lydia Marie Jensen in Holden, Missouri.

Jerry is survived by his sister, Bonnie Sue Lynn of Butler, Missouri; half brother, Larry Lynn of Freeman, Missouri; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; half brother, Bob Lynn; and half sister. Patty Gunnels.


Adrian FFA Community Garden is starting to produce

The Adrian FFA Community Garden is starting to produce! Before school got out FFA members planted the garden for the summer. A couple have members have helped keep it weeded and taken care for the summer.

Feel free to swing by and grab some vegetables. We do ask that you please only take what you need so that way it’s available for everyone.

2021 Butler Saddle Club Rodeo Royalty


2021 Butler Saddle Club Rodeo Queen (left) Haley Bolling and Princess Addie Johnston were crowned during ceremonies tonight. 

Wild Horse Race winners were Austin Cooper, Justin Simms and Trevor Highfill. 

Raffle winners were Sonja Walsh (rifle or $500) and Pam Bolling (state fair concert pack or $200).

Mutton Bustin champ was Colton Cumpton, 4, son of Tyler Cumpton and Kaili McCarl of Adrian.

Obituary - Joyce Ann Wyatt

Joyce Ann Wyatt, 78, of Holden, Missouri, was born, February 22, 1943, in Jamesport, Missouri, the daughter of Lester and Erma May (Coates) Bryan. She departed this life, Thursday, June 17, 2021, at her home surrounded with love and family.

On November 21, 1986, she was united in marriage to George David Wyatt at the Coleman Baptist Church, Peculiar, Missouri. She was previously married to Othe Woodrow (Woody) Williams from 1958 – 1970.

Joyce was employed as a Senior Decorator for the King Radio Company in Olathe and later for Precision Quality in Lee’s Summit. She was member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Holden. She enjoyed fishing, collecting glasses and coffee cups, and watching softball and basketball.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Arleen Gregg; and six siblings, Gladys Toczylowski, Jean Garr, Dale Bryan, Donald Bryan, Leroy (Roy) Bryan, and Pearl Hagar.

She is survived by her husband, Dave Wyatt of the home; four children, Vincel W. (and Mary) Williams of Herndon, Virginia, Deborah S. Wersching of Lee’s Summit, Chad (and Kimberly) Kellam of Verona, Missouri, and Sandra J. (and David) Craig of Holden; son-in-law, Gary Gregg of Pleasant Hill; fourteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday June 21, 2021, at the funeral home. Reverend Denny Chestnut will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are David Craig, Edward Emond, Gary Gregg, Chad Kellam, Jennifer Wersching, and Vincel Williams.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Obituary - Harold E. Earhart

Harold E. “Gene” Earhart, 91, of Belton, Missouri went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Raymore, MO.

Services will be held at the church 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the church.

Gene was born July 15, 1929 in Troy Kansas to Harold Mann and Ruby L. (DeHart) Earhart. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served in combat with the 1st Marine Division in Korea.

In 1953, he married Ellen Marie Howland. Four sons were born to the union. In 1955, they moved to Belton, MO where Gene started his career as a civilian lineman-electrician with the Base Civil Engineering Section at Richards Gebaur AFB and finished his career as the Chief of Operation and Maintenance for the Base Civil Service Engineering Group.

He was a former member of the Belton Board of Education, a little league baseball coach, a Boy Scout leader with Troop 210, an honorary warrior in the tribe of Mic-O-Say, a past Master of the Belton Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.

He was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed fishing and helping his sons with anything.

He is survived by his son Michael Earhart and his wife Bobi of Kansas City, MO, his son Tim Earhart and his wife Jackie of Salem, VA, his son Doug Earhart and his wife Theresa of Raymore, his son Phil Earhart of Belton, grandchildren Hannah, Kim, AJ, and Chad, great grandchildren, Nolan, Opal, Logan, and Quinn.
