Obituary - Robert Edward Paul Jr.,

Robert Edward Paul Jr., age 67, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.

Bob was born in Faulkner Co., Arkansas on April 13, 1954 to Robert Edward Paul Sr. and Alma Arlene (Graybill). He was joined in marriage with his wife, Starla (Attebury) in 1972. Bob then served his country in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1976 where he graduated high school. For many years, he worked as a control operator for KCP&L before retiring at forty-eight. Bob was then able to live out his life on the farm and share his love for the Lord with others. Bob was a pastor and with his type A personality, enjoyed saving others.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Paul Sr.; and daughter, Tressa R. Paul-Webb.

He is survived by his loving wife, Starla Ranee Paul; son, Bobby Paul III (Heather); two brothers, Rudy Paul (Linda) and Roy Rhoads (Jody); six sisters, Brenda Listern (Kurt), Patricia Brumlow, Cindy Campbell, Sarah Kimball (Harry), Kay Marrs, and Kathy Buckley; four grandchildren, Natalia Loveall, Quinton Moore, Briana Paul, and Ashley Paul; and four great grandchildren.

Obituary - Dusty Leon Frieben

Dusty Frieben, 59, Harrisonville, Mo passed away December 2, 2021.

Dusty was born April 15, 1962 to Bill and Louise Frieben in Kansas City, Missouri. Dusty’s interest included reptiles, fishing, art and collectibles. He also enjoyed preserving family photos for future generations to enjoy. 

Dusty retired from Calmar Industries after working there for 20 years before becoming a partner Cass County Overhead Door. He was a proud independent self-employed member of the Harrisonville area for over 20 years.

On July 5, 2008, Dusty was united in marriage to Paula Ann Weyandt in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Dusty was preceded in death by his mother, father and grandparents.

He is survived by his wife Paula; children Amy Frieben (Raytown) , Jessie (Benny) Krewson (Clinton), Jackie Frieben (Garden City) and Troy Frieben (Harrisonville) ; brothers Rusty Frieben (Harrisonville) and Charles Villines . Grandchildren: Jordan Frieben, Lucas Phillips, Brianna Schick, Alyssa Schick, Logan Cagle, Destiny Frost, Donovan Brewer and one Great Grandchild Ashlynn Osborn and future Grandson Oliver.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with inurnment in the Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee's Summit, Missouri immediately following the service.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd's Staff Food Pantry, Harrisonville, Missouri and may be left at the funeral home.


Butter Burgers and Fresh Frozen Custard to Arrive in Harrisonville

Harrisonville is getting a delicious addition! Culver’s of Harrisonville will open this fall. Culver’s is known for its ButterBurgers and creamy Fresh Frozen Custard.

The new Harrisonville store will officially open on Monday, December 13, at 10:30 a.m.

Culver’s of Harrisonville, which will be located at 1415 N State Route 291, will serve fast, casual food, cooked to order, meaning guests’ food is not made until after they order it. The location will be open 10 am to 10 pm, and closed for major holidays.

“We’re excited to open and become an active member of the community,” says franchise co-owner, Connor Hartnett. “When Harrisonville residents and travelers are looking for handcrafted meals and tasty frozen treats, we’ll be ready to serve them with the warm hospitality Culver’s is known for.”

Owners Matt and Jeannie Mitchell opened their first Culver’s in Lee’s Summit in 2004. Since then they have opened restaurants in Blue Springs, Raymore, Independence, North Kansas City, Warrensburg, and most recently a second location in Lee’s Summit. They are very active in their communities including raising funds for school districts, first responders, and Future Farmers of America. The Mitchells are so excited to become part of Harrisonville!

The Butler Junior High Wrestlers competed at Warsaw tonight. The boys did a fantastic job.

Results:
Damian Alkire: 2-0.
Preston Mallatt: 2-0.
Daryl Jarreau: 2-0.
Cohen Wilson: 2-0.

Next up is a meet on Friday @ Clinton then conference on Saturday @ Sherwood.

Obituary - Marie C. Wilson

Marie C. Wilson, age 89 of Clinton, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at her son's home in Clinton, after a short illness.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 9th, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri, with burial following in the Vansant Road Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. 

Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Marie's name can be made to the First Baptist Church of Clinton, and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Lillie “Marie” Wilson was born on July 21, 1932 in Bates County, Missouri. The daughter of Hazel and Fred Cornell. On June 7, 1952 Marie was united in marriage to Richard P. Wilson. To this union 4 children were born: Rick (Jeanne), Linda, Fred, and Donnie (Kathy) all of Clinton.

Marie loved her church; she was an active member of First Baptist Church for 62 years. She worked for Osage Valley Electric for several years. Marie loved playing cards, bowling, and watching her kids and grandkids play ball.

Along with her 4 children Marie is also survived by 3 sisters and 1 brother; Betty of Oklahoma, Freda of Clinton, Missouri, Richard Dale of Harrisonville, Missouri and Connie of California. Marie had 11 grandchildren; Matt, Crystal, Nichole (James), Lindsey (Matt), Erin, Daniel (Rachel), Brad (Andrea), Wendy (Brian), Amy (Jeff), Nolan, and Jordan, 18 great-grandchildren; Hannah, Nicholas, Kannon, Konnor, Cole, Elnora, Kyler, Cambrie, Carlie, Keegan, Iva, Danny, Freddy, Baker, Caroline, Lillie, Tristan and Adelynn.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.


Obituary - Leonard R. Ramsey

Leonard R. Ramsey, 83, of Nevada, MO, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Nevada. Leonard was born September 2, 1938, in Ft. Scott, KS to Paul R. and Ruth Helen (Rogers) Ramsey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Mary Ruth (Ramsey) Graham. Leonard is survived by his long life companion of 20 years; three daughters, Terry Fritz of Reno, NV, Patty Lewis of Cottonwood, AZ, and Dana Ramsey Padgett and her husband Bob of Rose Hill, KS; one son, Edward Ramsey of Union Town, KS; and Sue’s children, Yvette and Clarenc Wolf, and Heather Hinkle, all of Nevada; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Leonard joined the United States Navy and served for four years after graduating from high school. Following his time in the service he returned to Kansas where he had spent most of his life. Leonard joined Sue and moved to Nevada, MO in August 2001. He had a mechanics shop in Union Town, KS for 17 years then went to work for Bourbon County. After he retired in 2001, he enjoyed woodworking, trot line fishing, playing cards with his very special friends, and loved all his families.

Leonard was in Medicalodges in Nevada for over two years and accepted what had to be with no complaints. He loved his private room and loved and appreciated the staff that cared for him. Leonard will be missed by many.
