Wanted man extradited back to Henry County

Zachary Brackman was extradited to Henry County from Davidson County, Lexington, North Carolina this week on a warrant for probation violation. 

His original charges from 2018 were for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful use of a weapon and Driving While Revoked or Suspended. 

The cost of his extradition to the Sheriff's Office was $4,315.00 Brackman remains in custody on a $5,000.00 bond.

Obituary - Kevin Ray Doyle

Kevin Ray Doyle, 63, formerly of Nevada, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at his home in Sheldon, MO. Kevin was born May 5, 1958 in Pittsfield, IL to Russell O. and Marylyn L. (Shaw) Doyle.

Kevin was raised in Carrolton, IL and graduated from Carrolton High School in 1976. He received a Batchelor Degree in Law Enforcement from School of the Ozarks in Branson, MO and received a degree from the Police Training Institute in Champaign, IL. Kevin worked for the Carrolton, IL Police Department from 1980-1984 and the Nevada, MO Police Department from 1985 until he retired in 2009. He has resided in Sheldon for the past 5 years.

Survivors include his daughter Ann Louise Cooper (D.J.), Lawrence, KS; his son Russell William Doyle (Jennifer), Nevada; grandchildren, Shaun Doyle, Alexander Doyle and Elenore Doyle; siblings Dick Doyle (Carla) Walla Walla, WA, and Debra Fay (Brad), Huntsville, AL; two nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.

Linda Joyce Huston, 75, Peculiar, Missouri departed this life on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the Saint Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.

She is survived by 4 children, Wayne Edward Pettis and wife Lena, Appleton, Wisconsin, Lyn Oshel and husband Jay, Saint Joseph, Missouri, Margery Jacobs, Higginsville, Missouri, Mark Polson and wife Christi, Peculiar, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson on the way; two sisters, Thelma Jean Smith, Peculiar, Missouri, Janet Ellis, Gary, Texas; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Bible Fellowship Center, 2502 N. Liberty Street, Independence, Missouri with inurnment at the Rochester Cemetery, Rochester, Missouri at a later date.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.

Family ask those in attending the service to be COVID Conscious while at the service.

Earl Harvey Anderson, age 89 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. He was born July 28, 1932 to Leslie and Hazel Sircin Anderson in Barnes, Arkansas.

Earl is survived by his wife, Neoma Anderson of Butler, Missouri; one son, Neil Anderson and wife Sabrina of Springfield, Missouri; one daughter, Virginia Thompson and husband Mike of Butler, Missouri; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bessie Rose Anderson and Roberta Radford; and one great-grandson Maysn Lile.


Henry County Health Center confirms 45 new positive cases of COVID-19

The Henry County Health Center (HCHC) has received confirmation there are 45 new positive cases of COVID-19.

This brings the total number of confirmed positive cases in Henry County to 3,823.

All contact tracing has commenced and all parties that have had close contact are being notified. HCHC continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing, washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or more, and to remain home if you are sick.

The CDC continues to recommend that individuals to wear a face covering when you are in public, and are unable to social distance, to assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
