Obituary - Norma Frances Meisenheimer

Norma Frances (Rodgers) Meisenheimer, 92, of Nevada, MO passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Norma was born July 11, 1929, in Nevada to Fred and Lily (Burford) Rodgers. 

Lily passed away when Norma was only 18 months old. Lily’s sister, Anna Burford, helped to care for Norma until she graduated in 1947 from Sheldon High School.

In 1949, Norma married Ed Meisenheimer. Together they raised seven children. Doug (Lilibeth) Thomas, Donna Moore, Connie Hartline, Dale (Lila) Meisenheimer, all of Nevada, Dick Meisenheimer of Milo, Debbie (Mike) Dahmer of Durango, CO, and Jim (Marcie) Meisenheimer of Oak Grove, MO.

Norma worked for Key Work Clothes in Nevada for 27 years, retiring on June 26, 1992. She made many long lasting friendships during that time.

After retirement, Norma enjoyed helping with sewing and crafts at the Nevada Senior Center making stuffed animals which were donated to Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Norma’s life was centered around her family and her faith in Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Pentecostal Assembly Church where she made many friends. With her failing health, Norma was not able to attend church but always had her Bible close to read every day.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lily Rodgers, Aunt Anna Burford, Ed Meisenheimer, and an infant brother, Ray Rodgers. Sisters in Christ: Carol Chapman, Fuku VerSteeg, and Betty Million. She is survived by her seven children; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren;11 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a lot of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Debbie Gilbert officiating. Norma will be laid to rest at Moore Cemetery close to her parents at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Nevada Animal Shelter c/o Ferry Funeral Home.

Former Pleasanton Kansas man stabbed to death in Raytown

Stabbing Victim Identified:

Raytown, MO – Raytown Police have identified the male that was killed in the morning stabbing on January 19th as Zackiery Lister, a 20 year old Raytown resident.
 
On January 19th, Raytown Police responded to a residence in the area of 9200 E 54th Terrace for a report of a homicide. Officers arrived locating a deceased adult male inside the residence from apparent stab wounds. One adult male is in custody. The investigation is ongoing.

Obituary - Sandy (Victor) Hagman

Sandra Louise "Sandy" Hagman, age 80, Mound City, Kansas passed away Friday, January 21, 2022.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial in the Curry Cemetery. 

Friends may call from 1 pm until service time at the Chapel. Guest registry can also be made Tuesday, January 25 from 9 am to 4 pm at the Chapel.

Obituary - Zackiery Roger Lister


Zackiery Roger Lister, age 20, formerly of Pleasanton, died at his home in Raytown, Missouri on January 19, 2022. He was born the son of Benjamin Lister and Staci Nordyke on May 13, 2001 at Fort Scott, Kansas. Zackiery would help out anyone in need without hesitation. 

He enjoyed playing dungeons and dragons, Magic: The Gathering card game, listening to music, watching movies, reading Sherrilyn Kenyon books. 

Most of all he love spending time with his mom, she meant the world to him. Zack is survived by his parents, three brothers, Anthony Nordyke of Raytown, Nathan Lister of Lawrence, Gabriel Lister of Pleasanton, two sisters, Mikayla and Bayliegh Lister of Pleasnton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Congratulations to Preston Mallatt who took home 1st place in the 2022 Missouri Rookie State Wrestling Championship at 115lbs and the 14 and under class! Preston is the son of Mike and Michelle Mallatt of Butler.
