Obituary - Jerry Eugene Haston

Jerry Eugene Haston, 74, of Garden City, MO passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at his home.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri, with a visitation beginning at 1:30 PM.

One injured in house explosion in Roscoe

On Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 1:18 p.m., the St Clair County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a house exploding on Riverview Drive in Roscoe, Missouri. The caller stated 1 person was injured.

Deputies and firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival the residence was fully engulfed with one wall lying on the ground. Deputies and EMS rendered First Aide to a male subject with severe burns over a large percentage of his body. 

The subject was transported by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri and is currently in critical condition.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters from Roscoe, Lowry City, and Sac Osage Fire Departments. The Missouri State Fire Marshall’s Office will be leading the investigation into the cause of the explosion.

Obituary - Phyllis Joan Oglesby

Phyllis Joan Oglesby, 80, Lamar, MO passed away in her home surrounded by family on March 14, 2022, following a recent diagnosis of lung cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Chris Oglesby.
Survivors include sisters, Barbara Johnson of Broken Arrow, OK and Anna Puckett and husband Dave of Eldorado Springs, MO; brother, Ron White and wife Netta of Hawaii; daughters, Janelle Dimond of Shawnee, KS and Carmen Rutledge of Lamar, MO; son, Jeff Moritz and wife Rhonda of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Chariti Farmer of Blue Springs, MO, Ryan Braker of KS, Colton Higgins and wife Kathy of Lamar, MO, Courtney Balke of Lee’s Summit, MO, Jordan Dimond and Reed Norman of Lawrence, KS, Alisha Miller of Independence, MO, Kendall Morrow and wife Brook of Lamar, MO, and Adrian Dimond of Shawnee, KS. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Emily, Riley, Keily, Adler, Melani, Zoee, Maliya, Calon, and Charlotte, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Mrs. Oglesby was born September 10, 1941, in Grainola, OK to Clyde and Joan (Dalton) White. She married Chris Oglesby on October 21, 1983. She was a phone operator at O’Sullivan Industries and later at Thorco Industries. She was a member of the Iantha Baptist Church. She loved the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas Jayhawks, and any sport her grandchildren were playing while watching with great enthusiasm. She loved each one of her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their friends. She did not know a stranger. Friends and family are welcome to attend a graveside service on Saturday April 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Moorehead Cemetery.


Obituary - LeRoy Tschudi

LeRoy Tschudi, 69 of Adrian, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022.

LeRoy was born October 10, 1952 in Harrisonville, Missouri the son of the late Robert “Bob” and Bobbie (Lusher) Tschudi. He grew up in Creighton, Missouri where he attended and graduated from Sherwood High School in 1970.

On August 30, 1974, LeRoy was united in marriage to Vivian “Vicki” Gregory. To this union two children were born, Amanda and Ryan.

LeRoy spent his working years as a truck driver. In 1982, Jim and Lavonne Sutton purchased a second truck for their business “Sutton Trucking”. They hired a local driver named LeRoy. After 35 years of hard work and loyalty he retired in November of 2017. Also, while working long hours he managed to farm. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with the grandkids, traveling, hauling grain and helping WestCentral Agri of Adrian, Missouri. Most mornings you would find him visiting the local restaurants.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and three infant siblings.

LeRoy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vicki Tschudi of the home; a daughter, Amanda Brown and husband Jeb and grandchildren, Rylee and Caleb Brown of Oak Grove, Missouri; a son, Ryan Tschudi and wife Tiffany and grandson, Ethan Tshudi of Archie, Missouri. He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with inurnment in the Mullin Cemetery near Urich, Missouri at a later date.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2022 at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Mullin Cemetery Association, Frontier Village, Adrian, Missouri or to the family.



Scattered Thunderstorms This Afternoon



Early afternoon update: The chance of a strong thunderstorm has shifted a touch west, including the KC Metro this afternoon as more clearing of clouds has started across eastern Kansas. Still, most storms will be widely scattered across the region. Quarter size hail and pockets of damaging wind gusts.

Obituary - Bonnie Lenore (Sampel) Ralle

Bonnie Lenore Ralle, age 83, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Monday, March 21, 2022. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on November 16, 1943 the daughter of Orville and Emily Larison Sampel. She graduated from Turner High School. She attended the University of Kansas and finished her Bachelor of Education degree at Pittsburg State University. 

 She was united in marriage to Edward "Ed" Ralle on December 20, 1969. To this union, two sons were born, Joe and Eddie"Pooka". The marriage ended in divorce. She began teaching in Kansas City, Kansas before moving to Pleasanton.

She taught second grade at Pleasanton Elementary School from 1975 to 2000. Bonnie was an avid reader and enjoyed oil painting. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Dakota, and a sister Cookie Hill. Bonnie is survived by two sons, Joe and Eddie "Pooka" Ralle, two brothers, Wayne O'Bryan(Mary) and Cas Zybco(GiGi), eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 6 pm Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4:30 pm to service time.
