Tom Jennings, 80, of Nevada, Missouri left this life on March 30, 2022. He was born on November 27, 1941, to Jesse and Blanche (Stewart) Jennings.
After graduation he met and later married the love of his life Patsy (Domino) Sumner on May 9, 1959. To this union four children were born; Rhonda Jean, Ron, J.D., and Darl. During his life he worked at the International Shoe Factory then retired from Fram. Throughout Tom’s life he enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Roscoe fishing on the Osage River, and also restoring old tractors. He was a man of many talents, from fabricating trailers, to building houses, to fixing hot wheels, there was nothing he couldn’t figure out, but most of all he enjoyed family. His orneriness was his best personality trait.
Preceding him in death were his parents Jesse and Blanche Jennings, daughter Rhonda Jean, in-law’s Clifford and Fern Sumner, three brothers and five sisters.
Tom is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patsy; sons Ron Jennings (Karen), J.D. Jennings (Angela), Darl Jennings (Kerry), sisters Dolly Moore and Marge Hacker and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.

Obituary - Kathy Sue Maple
Kathy Sue Maple, age 67, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held on a later date.
Kathy was born in Independence, Missouri on September 20, 1954 to Charles Gill and Mary Kathryn (Hammers) Gill. Kathy graduated high school and went on to further her education achieving her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. In the winter of 1980, she was joined in marriage with her late husband Kevin on January 19th. Together their union was blessed with one daughter, Nellie. Kathy had a passion for teaching, primarily elementary level students. She was also very inspired by nature, Monarch Butterflies, and flowers. She enjoyed gardening, reading books with her grandchildren, baking, listening to music, spending time with her beloved friends, and antiquing.
Kathy was preceded in death by her loving husband of over forty-one years, Kevin Maple; and her parents, Charles and Mary Kathryn Gill.
She is survived by her daughter, Nellie K. Maple Parman (husband Daniel) and their children, Judah and Joplin; and her sister, Melinda Gill.

Rollover accident in Butler
The Butler Police Department along with the Butler Fire Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a rollover accident in the area of Fulton and Vine Streets in Butler around 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.
The accident involves a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder that swerved to miss a truck that failed to stop at a stop sign.
The vehicle then rolled over into a yard. The female driver of the SUV didn't sustained serious injuries. The driver of the truck was ticketed at the scene of this crash!

Barbara Ann Dennis, age 60, Hume, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022. She was born on September 14, 1961 the daughter of Russell and Margaret Hannah Dennis.
She graduated from Hume High School. Barbara was a member of the Hume Christian Church. She enjoyed her coffee, making home made caramels, and listening to Roy D. Mercer with her grandson, Dane. She had a special relationship with her friends at the Carpenter's Cup and Barbara Pruitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers, a sister, Sandy Dennis, and several aunts and uncles. Barbara is survived by her significant other, Mark Hawks, a son, Eric Ramirez and wife Lynette, a daughter, Anna Schmid and husband Nicholas, a brother, Tom Dennis, two grandchildren, Dane and Micah, one on the way, a special cousin, Jimmy Kennedy, extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 am Friday April 1, 2022 at the Hume Christian Church. Burial will be in the Hume Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, March 31 at the Church. Stolen in Henry County
Stolen from the area of Hwy K and NW 100 Road in Henry County between 8 pm last night and 9am this morning, a black 2008 Chevrolet 1500 extended cab Z71 with registration 1SFV12 with a black camper shell.
A red/white 1987 Yamaha Banshee 350 with sand paddle tires was in the bed of the truck.

Vehicle fire overnight in rural Adrian
Around 1:30 a.m. this morning the Adrian Fire Department along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a truck fire on CR 13004 off of KK Highway east of Adrian.
The truck was a total loss and no one was injured in this incident. The cause of the fire is unknown to us at this time.
